packages, room only reservations and stuff

I just got off the phone booking my room only stay at the port orleans riverside for May 05. She said that room only reservations were available in may 05. And packages were not yet available.

And she told me something I did not know. She told me it is possible to add ultimate hopper passes to a room only booking and not have it count as a package. Because the package is much more than room only w/UHP. It has serveral more components added to it.

She told me doing it this way was cheaper but was unable to give my a specific amount.


Has anyone ever booked a room only and later added UHP's to their reservation. If so how much did you save.

I would appreciate anyone's input. Please

2005 Packages are available.....a friend has booked his trip for May 2005 with the Dream Maker w/ Silver add-on.

This is not exactly correct information. First, packages are available for booking for 2005 and have been for over a week now.
Second, yes, you can add the UPH to a room only reservation, BUT you have to pay for it all up front at the time you add it (unlike a package where you pay for it as a part of the package)
Also, it is not less expensive because the package has more components. The package is the SAME pricing (or less depending on promotions) as the room and UPH and includes the extras for free.

Yes, in the past it was more expensive for packages than the room and UPH separately, however they revamped their packages last year so that the pricing is the same. So if you are adding UPH to a room only reservation (without discount) you are paying the same as the package, but losing the "bonus" features of the package.

I only know what she told me. The operators name was LouAnn.

So thanks everyone for the clarification. I will call back and talk to someone else at Disney Reservations. I will definitely checkout that section on mousesavers too.


I think I do pretty good booking the best rates at universal but I have only booked disney a couple of times and even then only the packages.
