If I was less than 45 days out and had a package booked for October but had to re-schedule the trip for May would I be able to transfer the money I paid to the new reservation? Or would I end up being charged the cancellation fees?

The reason I ask is because we had originally planned on going in May but there is a chance my DH will be able to get the time off of work in October. The only problem is he won't know until pretty close to the time we would be scheduled to leave.

It depends on what you booked. Some options cannot be transferred or deposits refunded, such as travel insurance or air, as Disney has to pay those fees also.
From what I have read here, others have not had issues with rescheduling a package, rather than cancelling it. But realistically if you are within a certain time frame you could be penalized.
You will probably get a lot better feedback soon from those who have had actual experiences.
Good luck. :wizard:

If you booked a package directly through Disney you can make your changes/cancel up to 45 days prior to travel for a refund of your $200 or it can be applied to new dates.

I think if you purchase travel insurance you would lose that in addition to any airline fees that your airline charges.

I wasn't going to include airfare or insurance in the package. I could always wait to book until I know for sure if we can make it in October, the only reason im hesitant to is because we have our hearts set on one paticular resort.
