Has anyone ever had a package delivered to their resort? We are going down to Board Walk Villas tomorrow, and I need Verizon to send me a new battery for my phone. Verizon says that they need a signature upon delivery. Will the resort do that?

OK, now for the gripe. Member Services was closed (not the gripe), so I called the regular Disney line. I followed a menu item or two, and suddenly I was in this system where they asked me to say and then spell my last name, say and then spell my first name, say my phone number, and a BUNCH of other things. I was about 10 minutes into the call, and I was still answering questions so they could route me. Then, when I finally got a human, she told me that I would have to call a specific number but couldn't transfer me there. It seems odd that they can't send you to another extension within the Disney system. It wasn't like I was asking for something really obscure; all I was asking for was the resort. I had to get transferred to a main operator, who then transferred me. At first she wanted to give me the number, and when I asked if she could just transfer me to the resort, she said the best she could do was transfer me to the operator.

Now that I typed that all out, I am realizing that although I was most frustrated when I was transferred to that final operator before being transferred to the resort, my main frustration stemmed from the initial battery of questions I had to withstand (have I been to Disney before, how many times, what is my phone number, what is my street address, what is my last name, what is my first name......).

Ok, sorry for the rant!

Package services @ the Boardwalk are handled by an outsourced company (it was IKON last I knew). So the number is probably not part of the Disney system, but separate - they are a huge company - you might be calling a call center even, I don't know. They receive packages and should have no issue signing for it. You will have to pick up at their location (don't know where @ Boardwalk that is - near the convention stuff I would guess) and they do charge for the service. There is a sticky at the top of the Resorts board about package delivery at the resorts.

No need to be sorry, ITA!! Yet another reason I am so happy to be a DVC member! I recently had to endure the same thing when I was entertaining the thought of booking a room with cash and Member Services was closed. It was painful!

I don't know about the package but I really do appreciate the polite and courteous service we get as DVC members. The MS folks really do seem nicer and they seem to want to help with our vacations to make them the best.

I always say thanks to them and let them know that they do a good job.

I sure do wish there was a way to just press a button to speak to an operator for the CM line. After giving them all the info, they just ask for it all over again.

I can't imagine them signing for a package for you. Why not just buy your own battery and have a spare when you get the one from Verizon?

I called, and they said they do it all the time -- no problem. Think of all the people who have Garden Grocer and others ship food to them; this isn't new terrain.

My battery started acting strangely today (short charges) and then heated up to a high temperature tonight, and I need the phone big time because this is a working vacation. I am covering the AAU Nationals at the ESPN facility, and I need my phone for tethering and live web updates. I went to the Verizon store tonight, and they didn't have my battery. The woman there said, "Why don't you order it and we'll have it shipped to your hotel?" I called Disney and inquired, and they said it wasn't a problem.

I'm glad it seems to have worked out for you.:thumbsup2

LOL - I know EXACTLY what you mean about booking a package! I could only imagine some crazed phone tree programmer gleefully rubbing his hands after he figured out how many questions he could have the system ask and still require a bit more information. :headache:

I'm glad you found out it was possible.

FYI I've had medication shipped to the BWV and one it was to Caribbean Beach Hotel and both times it was accepted by the front desk and a message left on our room phone that a package had been delivered. Worked quite well actually!

Food deliveries are handled by Bell Services, not IKON.
