We understand that if we do not spend $500 on the bar then we have to pay a $100 penalty. We currently have 18 guests (16 on beer and wine, 2 on soft drinks) so we are a little bit under that magic $500. How can I get this up to $500? Do I pay for a few drinks that are not included in my package? Is this done as cash (I would prefer not to have to carry cash on my wedding day) or BOC? Any help greatly appreciated!

I don't know if this would count but could you do a couple of special drinks, like 2 cocktails that you name yourself?

Sorry I just disapeared on fb earlier my phone decided to die on me :(

You could do a bottle of champagne or some special wine for the two of you. We are doing champagne and it appears on your BEO (I think ours was $36).

Now I did ask my planner about this, but she said as it would be provided by the servers (not the barman) then it wouldnt count towards the bar :confused3

Why do you have to do a package bar? Have you thought about just doing a pay on consumption? That way you aren't wasting money if your guests don't drink $500 worth of alcohol.

I don't want to do BOC for everything. There are quite a few big drinkers in our party and package bar will work out cheaper at Disney prices!

ummmm, ok..... i thought your initial question referred to being concerned you weren't going to reach your minimum?:confused3

Think we are getting our wires crossed.. I have a 3 hour reception so have 14 guests (but maybe 17) at beer and wine @ $25 pp and 2 children $12.50. So what I'm saying is that will fall just short of that $500 spend. Lets say I DO have 17 adults and 2 kids, this would come to $450. So I would still have to fork out an extra $100 if I don't meet $500. I'd rather buy a few drinks totalling the shortfall $50 as BOC/Cash to make it up to the $500 rather than me just pay the $100 and get nothing for it.

I'm just wondering if doing this is an option :confused3

OOOOOOOoooooooooooo

i get it, sort of - thats why someone said about the champagne for you guys?! i think that would be a good idea - can you do a bottle of wine on your table as part of the package? i think you or someone already said that the champagne toast idea wouldn't apply...
