There are 6 of us so they have to really pack down or clip on a backpack.

Any good ones you have used for trips? Links would be great too!

This is the most recent model of the one I have and used last trip: https://www.thenorthface.com/shop/womens-venture-2-jacket-nf0a2vcr?variationId=NXG#hero=5 (very bottom picture shows it folded up into its own pouch). I'm pretty sure they make men's and kids' versions too. This was absolutely perfect during a rainy March week.

Do you take that in the pouch through the no bag line or do you pack it in a bag? I ask because I don't carry a bag and it would be nice to clip that to a belt loop but I'm thinking since it's in it's own bag they would make me go through the bag line, thus negating the advantage of not carrying a bag.

You could always wear the coat and put the ‘bag’ part in your pocket then once through the gate remove the coat and clip to your belt loop. 🤔

It rained pretty much every day I was there last year, so I think I was wearing the jacket most, if not all, days. We carried a bag anyways.

If you are planning on going bag-free, then I extra recommend this jacket because it has interior pockets with plenty of storage. Great for a phone or wallet. I agree with the above poster that if you want to go through the bag-free line, just wear the jacket, and then stuff it into the pouch once you're through the line, if you don't need to be wearing it at the moment.

I have that jacket -- or its first cousin at least. It's a great jacket and does roll up small. I could carry it in a mini-backpack, even a string backpack -- but not a fanny pack or a cross-body.

I have a Marmot packable rain jacket that I've owned for probably 13-14 years and its just starting to de-laminate so I'm going to purchase a new one this year. It's been a great jacket and I take it on almost every trip I go on! I bought a small pouch that I keep it in but I think it can pack into it's pocket as well. My DH lost his matching Marmot jacket so he got a North Face one a few years ago that he likes just as well.
