My daughter, 2 grandkids and I will be staying at the Contemporary Tower the first week in March, and we would like to get a lunch on our last day that we can eat on the flight home. Will a cafe at the CR (or the GF, where we'll have breakfast that morning) wrap sandwiches, etc. for us "to go" or should I pack some extra ziplock bags for that purpose? The Unofficial Guide mentioned that you can get a "packable" lunch to take with you, but didn't give details.

Thanks for all the help - these boards are great :cheer2: and I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of our Travel Documents/Magical Express tags to arrive in the next couple of weeks! :cool1:

We went to DTD last year and got sandwiches from Earl of Sandwich for the plane. They were soo good. If you have time, I would do that.

They will give you "to go" boxes. I always grab a bunch of the yummu cookies and eat them when I get home.

Depending when you get to the airport, you could probably get something there also. I always carry extra ziploc bags.

We could pick up something at the airport, but we're on the Dining Plan and were going to use our final credit for a "to go" box. Guess I'll just check at the CR and see if they'll do something like that. And we'll have plenty of ziplock bags too, just in case!

Thanks! :disrocks:

Will it stay fresh enough? Having to get to the airport two hours early plus leaving WDW would be about 3 hours and then getting on the plane to eat it that is another extra hour or so... Do they stay fresh? If so, I love this idea but would worry about the sandwich remaining fresh or not spoiling.

We did the same thing for an 8 1/2 hour flight home. I would definitely check out the offerings at the resort CS location & if they can wrap it to go for you. Before I left for the airport I used a snack credit for a couple of fruit bowls & muffins for on the plane.

We grabbed sandwiches from the Beach Club Marketplace. It was awesome, went through security no problems, and tasted really good. These sandwiches were made to be to go sandwiches and they didn't have any condiments on them.:thumbsup2
