This is our first time bringing a baby to Disneyworld. He will be 14 months. We are staying at Pop Century. (Me, DH, DD 9, DS 14 months)

I'm so worried about him sleeping.

Does Pop offer anything besides a pack n play?

Should I rent a crib?

Should I have him sleep in a bed with me or DH if I can get a bed rail?

Any opinons?

You would have to rent a crib if you wanted one but I don't know where you would put it it would be pretty tight we barely fit a full size crib in our room at cbr. Bed rails can be requested and are free

What are you worried about? Are you concerned that he won't be comfortable? My kids always slept in the pack n plays on WDW trips and they never had a problem sleeping. I think they're so tired from being in the parks, swimming, etc, that they fall asleep right away.

We used the PnP until our kids were 3, but WDW resorts do have bedrails if you would rather go that route.

Has he ever used a pack n play before? If so, how does it go? If I were going with a 14 month old, I would get a PNP with the assumption that baby might end up in bed with me. I am not a co-sleeper at home, but my DD2 HATED the PNP with a passion. So she'd start out in a PNP and sometime during the night end up with me. You gotta do what you gotta do to get some sleep.

Be sure to bring familiar pillows, blankets, and loveys from home to make it as comfortable as you can. PNP mattresses are pretty thin and hard, so maybe put an extra blanket underneath the sheet to help make it softer.

Do you have a PNP or can you borrow one from someone to see how it goes? At that age I don't think it should make a huge difference, and he can always sleep with you if that works for you. My first son was a co-sleeper and my second couldn't sleep if he was with us, so you never know. Well, now he comes into our room early in the morning and he hogs the bed!

Go with what he knows. Introducing a new crib may not be the best. If you can borrow or get a PNP at home, then he will understand what it means on vacation. The wife and I, tried a hotel crib and our kid had a fit. Not working well with new bed. Got at PNP and went right to sleep, as she already know the walls....

Thanks for the suggestions.

He sleeps in a pack n play right now for naps, 3 days a week, at my SIL's house.

Other that that, he's in his crib at home.

I guess I just see the pack n play as very uncomfortable. I'll try putting some extra padding in there.

I'm afraid he's not going to want to sleep b/c we are all in the same room and if he sees us, he's not going to want to sleep.

Oh well, I guess we'll figure it out. He's got to sleep sometime.

Good to know bed rails are a possibility in case he ends up in bed with me.

We rented a crib this year from a baby's best friend and it was great-you can fold it up during the day if it is too big for the room(it was one piece wood that folded and unfolded easily)Last year we used the pack and play for my 8 month ds and it looked so uncomfortable for him.He would move all around and it would make noise all night.I tried wrapping the matress with an extra blanket but it didn't really help. This year we got the crib and it was great. We even brought his crib aquarium and he slept great.I also brought string and clothspins and a plastic tablecloth to block his view of us so we could still do things after we put him down at night. He could hear us but couldn't see us.We stayed at Poly so I was able to hang it from the standing table lamp to the mirror on the wall.We were worried about sleeping all in one room but after the first night(we got in late and din't have the cloth blocking him yet)he slept great.

We just stayed at POP last week and also have a 14 month old. He slept in the pack in play and slept just as good as he does at home. I was worried he wouldn't sleep well but he did fine.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about a PNP not being comfortable. Kids aren't supposed to have a soft "surface" to sleep on and I think nowadays the pnp "mattress" has a bit of cushion on it. Both my kids have done just fine in the PNP at Disney. In fact my DD8 slept in one for her first year as she slept in my room and her crib wouldn't fit. I actually brought hers to Disney with us her first 2 trips.
I did have the same problem with my youngest not wanting to sleep because everyone else was up. I ended up putting her pnp in the sink/vanity area and there was a wall there thankfully (we had a deluxe room) which helped a bit. The rooms in the values are really small, but you may be able to fit the pnp there and maybe rig a sheet to separate the areas until the baby falls asleep.

We've traveled with little ones many times and the PnP has always worked fine. At Pop it's a little tight~ but you'd never have room for a crib!
We've put it between the beds before, or if there is room, in the area outside the bathroom.

He'll be so tired after a day in the parks that he'll probably sleep just about anywhere!
We've wheeled our little one from the bus into the room and let her sleep right there in her stroller before! Sticky cotton candy face and all. :0)
Disney World just tuckers them out!
