Hi all,

I'm ready to do a trial run of packing our sling pack and back pack carry on the plane.

We will arrive at MCO at 7 am from West Coast. Doing ME to POR, taking WDW transportation to SOG and back to buy our Stars and Stripes passes that morning. Assuming we will not have a room ready when we arrive at POR, and so will not have our checked luggage either, what should we bring in carry-on?

We may go to a water park or just the pool (tired after flying all night) that day but if we have some energy we may just wander one of the parks. We'll be wearing our crocs and take swimsuits and sunscreen, shorts and T-shirts in our backpacks. Any other necessities you can think of for the first day that we could put in our carry-ons?

Thanks! I just cannot wait to go to WDW?

Hi, Hat and sunglasses come to mind! Also you may want to have any medications you may need in your carry-on. Joan

Thanks Joan. That makes sense. I also just thought of ID (military to buy passes) and debit cards and such.

I always pack a change of clothing in my carry on incase there are any problems with my bags being delayed. Has come in handy, and it's from experience. Three times I've had my luggage not reach me for many hours, even overnight.

I would bring some personal grooming supplies (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, a washcloth, etc.) You must be leaving the West Coast very late at night to be arriving in MCO at 7am! Having these things on hand will make you feel a little better after traveling for so long. You should be able to freshen up in one of the restrooms by the pool. Then grab a lounge chair and relax. You'll be dealing with jetlag from your west --> east flight.

Me, too. I have had my luggage lost twice, and the first time, I had checked nearly everything my checked baggage. I didn't even have a toothbrush!

Well, that only happened once! Now I pack a change of clothes, swimsuit, toiletry case, make-up, medications - the things I would really need if my luggage was delayed for 24 hours. It happened to me one other time, but this time, I was prepared!

Excellent points akamadforthemouse and ZoZo. Thank you, we'll make sure we take at least what we'd need for 24 hours or so.
