Do most people pack for your entire trip or pack less and plan to use a washing machine. We're doing 3 day land/4 day wonder, if that matters in your answer. Help us decide!:)

Will you have a car to leave stuff in? If so, I would pack a bag for the land part and a bag for the cruise. We did two days before our recent 3-night cruise and it was so nice to have smaller bags and less amount of items to keep up with on each leg. Of course, our toiletries where needed for each portion, the camera and that was about it. Pack Light is a great motto to live by!!!

For our three-peat, we had originally planned to do wash, but we ended up just packing enough for our 10 days on the Wonder. It was nice to not have to worry about it until we got home! We had a porter bring it across the street to the parking lot for us to meet the towncar (they take it right when you arrive at the port so that was not difficult either). And American managed to not lose any of it, although they did break off a handle on the way home.

On our first cruise I packed enough for the entire vacation feeling I didn't want to do laundry at all, heck I was on vacation. I found out that we didn't wear 1/2 of what I packed and I ended up doing laundry anyway. Our second and third cruises-I brought my own laundry stuff and a roll of quarters and did laundry. I brought a lot less clothes those times too.

I don't do laundry on vacation - pack enough and do it when I get home. But that's me...:jester:

I get up early so before my family was up I did all the laundry. We all folded and put away before breakfast and the whole job for 5 was done quickly. We came home with mostly clean clothes and I was thrilled. The laundry facility is empty early in the morning.

I will take less clothes next time.

It was empty in the afternoon also. I HATE packing dirty stinky clothes in my suitcase so I did laundry the day before we left so I only had a small carry on with dirty clothes. When I take the 7 day cruise I am packing half of what I need and I will wash in between.

I would do laundry the night before the cruise. Since you are doing land first you could take a swim while the laundry is washing. I assume you are staying at a Disney Resort, the laundry room is usually right by the pool. This way you have clean clothes for your cruise. I wouldn't do laundry on the cruise ship as they are alway's crowded unless you go late at night or at the crack of dawn. Take less clothes than you think you will need. We alway's overpack.

Last year, I packed way too many clothes because I did not want to do laundry. But, since we were going to WDW after the cruise, I did not want wet, sandy swimsuits in my suitcase either. So, I left Castaway Cay early, say 2pm, and did laundry on Deck One. (I believe it was deck one, don't quote me). Anyway, it was not too crowded and I was able to do two loads of laundry. It takes two times in the dryer to completely dry your clothes. Just thought I would mention that. This time, I am only packing half and planning on doing laundry. It' s up to you, do what you feel is easiest for you. I am also planning on using the dry cleaning service this time. Happy sailing!

LarryGadget,
Are you cruising the 10th, or doing WDW the 10th. I am sailing the 10th.

We'll be in WDW on the 10th and sailing on the 13th. This is our first cruise and first trip to WDW with our kids. We can't wait!!!

Larry,
I hope you and your family have a wonderful cruise!!!!!

We are going on the 4 day wonder. I am packing enough for the trip. I am taking my own laundry tablets, spray-n-wash, dryer sheets, and quarters. I have not decieded whether or not I will do laundry on the cruise or wait until I get home. I want to have it with me just in case.

I was debating the same thing.

We have a little bit of an advantage because we are doing 3 land / 4 sea / 3 land. I don't want to pack enough clothes for this whole vacation (anyway I don't have enough clothes that I like to wear for all 10 days) so what we are going to do is wash while we are on land.

Also, I have already confimed with our hotel and we are going to be leaving most of our luggage behind while we go on the cruise and we are going to pick it up when we return. We are staying in the same hotel during both parts while we are on land at the Contemporary.
