Here is my list of stuff to bring with up while we are on excursions and stuff...what do you think? am I missing anything..

Sweatshirts (we're going in Jan)
Camera
FILM!!! & batteries
Snacks-crackers and cheese and such...I have to have something with meds that I am on and if we're in line for a ride I dont want to interupt that)
Ponchos
Handy Wipes/Purell
KTTW Card (obviously), ID and Passport
$$$, travelers checks
Lip Gloss
sun tan lotion
bug repellant

Is there any time change? Will we have to reset our watches?
Let me know! Thanks!

DO you really think you are going to need sweatshirts on the Caribbean? We went a few weeks ago and it was plenty hot. Also, ponchos?

Seems like you are taking a lot to me. We had myself, my DH and 3 of our 4 children. I just took all of our kttw cards and ID, money and sunglasses. That was it. I course I like to travel light. I figure of I need something, I can always buy it wherever I am at.

I think I will pare down your list if you don't mind:

Definately lots of water and lots of credit cards if your going to go jewelry shopping. I would pack this in a backpack and off you go to have lots of fun!!! :hyper:

I would agree with the others- lose the sweatshirts, I'd even think twice about packing any. The only thing you should pack against the slightly cooler weather is a windbreaker for any time you want to spend up on deck on a day the ship is under way. Pack a water resistant one against the remote possibility of rain, The thing about rain down there is it is VERY fast moving; it could be pouring this minute and full sun 10 minutes later. Their idea of cold down there is the 70's, we've been there in February and found it very pleasant, the only thing that was a touch cool was the water.

we're doing 3 days land (thats what the sweatshirts are for...forgot to delete it when I copy/pasted it)

Jiljil I like your list better.
Thanks!

First, let me say that I am a recovering "be prepared for every contigency" packer. And my dear mother taught me that wherever you go you should always carry a light sweater or jacket (it may be hot outside but chilly in a restaraunt), a quarter (for a phone call), and a pack of crackers (you never know when you will be stuck without food).

I didn't bring the sweater on our tour of Key West in Jan and boy was I sorry. The weather was very chilly and our trolley broke down leaving us stranded out in the wind for some time. I finally bought a sweatshirt at a gift shop. I'd rather have spent the money on something else.

The moral of the story once again is...listen to mama.

thats how I am...I've spent too much time out in the wilderness...too many days hiking to know...when you need something you wont have it...

I think it's too much stuff to carry around, but the real question is WHAT EXCURSIONS DO YOU HAVE PLANNED? A beach day and a shopping day are quite different. Personally, if it won't fit in a fanny pack, I'm not carrying it.

Here are my ideas for paring it down:

Test the weather up on deck before you leave the ship; chances are you won't need the sweatshirt. Ditto for the poncho. Check the weather forecast before leaving. If you absolutely MUST have one, bring along those little disposables sold in the camping section of Walmart (less than a dollar each).

Take along a disposable camera. If you're out shopping, your "good camera" makes you a target for thieves; if you're on the beach you're in danger of ruining it.

Slather yourself good with sunscreen before leaving the boat, and carry one of those fat chapsticks for touch-ups. Unless you're especially fair-skinned or unless you're planning an all day beach excursion, you'll be covered.

Peanuts are a good fanny pack snack. They take up little space for the nutrition they provide, and they don't squish.

I would definitely take the sweatshirts on the cruise, but play it by ear for the shore excursions. (We were on the Magic during August and I ended up buying a sweatshirt for DS as it had gotten cold and he didn't ahve anything.)

Rule of thumb, what ever the temp is in the morning before you get off the ship, it will almost definitely not be more than 5 degrees cooler throughout the day.

for the pass ports-I'm thinking drinks...I dont look 25 I look more like 18...even getting a lottery ticket is a problem!!!

I think for nassau we will be doing the dolphin encounter and for cc we will be parasailing...
Like I said b4 sweatshirts were for our time at WDW...I didnt delete them when I was copy/pasted
