Due to DD's major eczema flare-up, we need to find a hypoallergenic & PABA-free sunscreen. We've been using Aveeno Baby sunscreen but I can't find anything on the bottle or their website stating that it's hypoallergenic & PABA-free so I think we have to stop using it.

Can anyone recommend a good sunscreen for babies that's hypoallergenic & PABA-free? We use alot of it because they apply it twice a day at school. Thanks so much!

My oldest has eczema and when he was a baby I swore by Mustella(although I don't know if it's paba free)

Now he uses Neutrogena - not the spray the lotion- (again not sure if it's paba free)

I know Banana boat and Bullfrog all have tons of paba free but my son was allergic to those.
Good luck and I have to say he's fine now. Once you figure out the triggers it gets easier to handle.

Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunblock. My son is allergic to most sunblocks and Neutrogena doesn't make him react.

I'm not sure of it's PABA-free or not, but I use Blue Lizard Baby on my DD (even though she's 10). She used to be able to use Coppertone Water Babies, but now she can't. Her eczema has flared up and regular sunblock stings where her skin is irritated. The Blue Lizard stuff doesn't bother her at all.

I use this and it's great. I am very sensitive to sunscreens. They make an adult version (it is identical it's just not in a pink bottle).

Blue Lizard also works for me but it a tad bit harder to find.

Any sunscreen that contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide and very little additives is great for people with sensitive skin or eczema. Trader Joe's also made one last year that worked for me.

Not only do you need worry about PABA, but the other sunscreens: Avebenzone and Oxy something or other, are very harsh. It may not just be the PABA causing the issue but these other chemical sunscreens.

Damn, I never realized PABA free wasn't written on the Aveeno bottle. We tried Neutrogena but DS had a bad reaction to it.

Have you tried the *new* Neutrogena that came out this year. It was the one referenced above for babies and adults. It was not out last year but they did sell a bunch of sensitive skin ones that DID NOT work for me. The new formulation this year does not break me out.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I think we'll give the Neutrogena (pure & free) a try and see how she does with that to start.
