PA System Announcement Question

On at least one day of our trip inside DL, we heard the announcement of "Mike or Judy Chase, please call the DL resort operator" on several different occasions. The first time was mid-morning and didn't really mean anything to us. But then we heard it again during the afternnoon and again during the evening. No matter where you were in the park, the music loop would stop and the announcement was made on all of the speakers. It has to be some sort of code since I don't think they would page a particular person throughout the whole day. But, maybe I'm wrong.

Has anyone else ever noticed this or something similar?

Well, we experienced a similar thing at AK on our last trip to Disney World. They kept paging for hours for a particular person. This happened to coincide with the closure of EE that we had just gone back to use our FP's on. The next morning I heard on the news of the death of a guest on EE and the page was trying to locate someone who was related to him. As it turned out he was there alone for the day - and also did have a known heart condition.

It's an unfortunate example of why they might have been actually paging for people all day long. Even if nothing happened to someone at the park, family may have been trying to get in touch with those people that they thought had gone to DL for the day b/c something happened while they were away from home, although in this example I imagine DL would be pretty particular about any paging.

From my understanding, they only page park guests if it's something very serious. But maybe it was some kind of code. And if it is, it's a code for something serious.

We were there the same day; I think maybe that these people were supposed to be the grand marshal for the dreams parade at 3:30pm?

When we heard the announcement, I was talking with a CM. I said to her, "Wow, I don't think I have ever heard that done."

She replied, "Yeah, must be something really serious or urgent."

Not sure that helps at all, but - there you have it.

Wow...I do not think that I have ever heard someone paged before. Very interesting...

Disney will only breaking the magic and theming in very serious situations. The only reason that this would be done is if someone had died or was very seriously ill.
It is the same in Disney World too - I lived in Orlando for a year and only ever heard this on one occasion - its very rare.

It is only used in a very serious situation and again during all my times at WDW I have only heard it used once and that was for an emergency.
