Good morning.

Has anyone been to both Camelbeach Waterpark in Tannersville, PA and Wildwater Kingdom at Dorney Park in Allentown? I am debating if Camelbeach is worth the 2 hr drive where Wildwater Kingdom would be a one hour drive. I will be taking my niece and nephew - 11 and 8 who are both strong swimmers.

Thanks in advance for any input.

LOVE Camelbeach. It's clean, well supervised and inviting. It attracts a nice clientele of people.

I've never been to Wildwater so I can't comment on it.

Thank you for the info. I think I will make the 2 hr drive - it seems that it will be worth it plus a reasonable admission price with AAA tickets.

Camelbeach a THOUSAND times over Wildwater. It's just a nicer, um....crowd. You know? Water is heated, that's nice. The parking lot is right there so a lot of people picnic on their bumpers at lunchtime.

Wildwater gets extremely crowded too at certain times. Can be dirty. I don't think it's as big as Camelbeach either, but I'm not sure.

Of course, with Wildwater you get Dorney. And let me tell you about Dorney, if you have any interest in actually going. Weeknights there are absolutely empty. And the new coaster....Voodoo....is oh-so-cool.

Have fun.

Thanks!

I thought the same thing about Wildwater but it has been 10+ years since I have been there and was wondering if it had changed any.

We will be going to Camelbeach next week-really looking forward to it! Just wanted to add that our Costco (in NJ) was selling discount tickets for Camelbeach-they were about $25 each. I am also going to look into the AAA tickets you mentioned. :)
I like that they offer a "spectator's admission" for those who don't want to ride-just supervise!

Glad to hear that CamelBeach is nicer! I'm going there with our GS troop tomorrow. I'm hoping that the threat of storms keeps the attendance low and that the storms hold out until at least late afternoon. There are about 50 of us going. I'm really looking forward to it. I've never been there, but I've been to Wildwater. I look at that like a bonus to going to Dorney and not a reason to go there for the day.

FWIW, the new waterpark at Hershey Park is clean but small compared to WK. I didn't even bother to change when we were there in May and the kids were finished with it in an hour, but that could be that one of the boys I was chaperoning didn't have a bathing suit and they wouldn't let him go into/on anything with jeans. I finally sent him to the soaker roller coaster so he could get wet. That made him happy enough.
