Yikes- those tornado- causing storms are on the way here! I hope everyone (myself included!) will be ok. Hopefully the storms will be weak by the time they get here! I lived through a tornado once and dont care to go through another one!

I just turned on the weather channel and saw a tornado watch for MY area. I live in the mountains for crying out loud!!!

Hope the storm that hit here last night is not heading your way. It was scarry. The alert came over the tv and they said within 10 minutes they expected tornados in our area. We grabbed a couple of things and heading into the bathroom -- we don't have a basement. DS8 was really scared and shaking. The tornado sirens kept going off. I don't remember the last time I heard that in our area. DS3 woke up towards the end of the ordeal and was surprised to see our dog in the bathtub. Our dog gave us a sense of security because he always gets so spooky when storms come. Last night his ears were up and he was alert but he not to much on edge.

Keep safe.

The alerts woke us up about 3 this morning.....thankfully it was only a Severe Thunderstorm warning and it didn't last to long but it was still scary. It woke John-Cole up as well and he usually sleeps like a log.

Stay safe everyone!

Just announced a tornado warning a few counties away from us til 7:00pm tonight.... this sucks!!!!

 I thought there were areas that were more prone to tornadoes and I didn't think PA was among them.

Stay safe everyone!

CC - we get a lot of tornado warnings and severe weather around here during the summer months, but the tornados are NOTHING like what they get in the midwest! The most damage I can remember from a tornado is overturned above ground swimming pools, blown away sheds, damaged roofs, uprooted trees, even a car flipped up on a home's roof one time! My grandmother had a huge oak uproot during a tornado. Then it crashed into the dining room. About 2 or 3 years ago a little infant was killed when an uprooted tree crashed through her bedroom. :( Our tornados are like baby tornados compared to those monsters filmed out west. :(

It's hot, muggy and a yellow brownish haze is covering everything. Prime tornado stuff!

There's no storms here yet- it looks like we have to sweat it out til midnight when the pass and leave.

Been hearing about these on tv & seeing the devastation. It's terrilbe:(

I have no idea just how scarey it must be, or how you guys must feel, but please now that us Aussies are thinking about you & are shocked at what we see & hear on tv.

Take care everyone;)

We had a pretty good bout of bad weather that went thru here last week. It got pretty scary at times.

Everyone stay safe and batten down the hatches 'til it blows thru. Good Luck!

About 10 years ago a tornado hit Montgomery County outside Philly and killed an entire family, ripped the front of the house off -- young married couple and their baby. It is very rare but we do get them. I've seen small twisters rip off a roof. There have been no warnings across our tv screen in Bucks. We had nice weather all day today.
