I'm strangely obsessed with this infomercial!!!

Has anyone done the videos? What did you think?

I'm pathetically out of shape. Would I be able to modify the exercises to still get a great workout (for instance I can't do chin ups, etc). Will I die after 5 minutes of cardio? I think I might!!! LOL!!!!

I have not done it but from talking to people that have I would not start out with this workout series. You have to do it for 90 minutes a day and it is very hardcore.

You can modify things a little or only do what you can but I suggest starting with something else first and then working your way up to doing it.

DH does it, and bought it at the recommendation of a friend who is a big work-out person. He has been happy with it and the results. I know there are different levels and you can adjust to what your target is (e.g., toning versus building muscle). I also know that there are "qualifying" exercises you must be able to do before you start. I don't recall the specifics, but it is like x number of pushups, y number of sit-ups, etc. You also need to be able to hold what I'll call a "chair position" (pretending to sit) against a wall for a certain number of seconds. I may try it myself one day but know I wouldn't make the minimums yet so will stick with power walking and wii-fit for now ;)

I have done it two years in a row in the spring and will be starting it again soon. It is, far and away, the best workout that I have ever experienced - and I have done them all.

If you decide to give it a try, start out slow. Don't try to do the whole workout each day the first few weeks - be satisfied with about half and work your way up. The first month in the program, every day will be a challenge. You will be pushing yourself so hard that you will get nauseous. After that it is still a challenge, but you will be able to handle the workload without the nausea.

Every day offers a 60 minute workout except for the Yoga, which is 90 minutes. Day 7 is for rest or stretching (there is a great 60 minute stretch included).

This workout will change your body, even if you are already in great shape. After you complete the program, nothing in normal life will be able to tire you out...

I thought there was a 20minute one available? My sister in law has expressed interest in it. I'll ask her if she ever got it/tried it.

Start out walking. My other sister in law lost a lot of weight just by walking. She was taking the kids for walks, going to the zoo, walking the mall, etc. Just to get out, away from the telly and temptation of snack food.

The shortest workout is the Cardio, which is over 40 minutes long. Beachbody has many other workouts, but P90X is an extreme workout, not just something for someone that wants to lose a little weight. I would not recommend it to anyone that cannot work out moderately for at least 30 minutes right now...

I've done it and it is HARD!! The first few times I wanted to throw up during the warm up!!

Plyo is the hardest! I have to get back on b/c while I was doing it, I felt great. It's not an easy work out but if you start slow, at your own pace, you will really start to love it.

I hate it, but I love it!!!:rotfl:

Yes. We are big fans. My hubby does it, I did it, and it does work. Two of our very good friends are in that infomercial. :) They are now doing it at their full time jobs with Tony Horton and moving to California very soon.

Its tough, but once you get through the first few weeks, you can do it. It feels so good, and you can taylor it to your needs.

You do need to dedicate some time to it. The works outs are all an hour or more long on average. We would recommend it to those serious about sticking with it.

Oh, I just wanted to let you know, that I can't do chin ups either. We have a chin up bar, and I got elastic bands with handles, and wrapped the band around the bar and did mine that way, while my husband used the bar. You may want to start with the original P90 work out first. The X stands for extreme.

When I first started the workouts I could only do a few. I can now do well over 150 during the pushup/pullup workouts. Used a chair to help build the strength. In fact, I still use a chair to knock out a few extra at the end of every set...

I have completed one full 90 cycle and am now going through it a second time. I LOVE it! You truly do get a great workout! I also got the P90 Plus videos. I do not care for them except for the Kenpo plus. That workout is great, too! Go for it! He says over and over in the video......"Do your best and forget the rest." As long as you keep pushing play each day and trying your best, you will be able to do it. It may take you a bit longer at first, but you will be so happy that you did it!

So true! Plyo is a killer. I still dread the day I do Plyo. I hate it but I love it. I always hurt after it too.....still!!!!!

I can do about 5 or 6 with a chair and then I move to the black band. I never thought I would ever be able to do even one. So see, OP, you will get stronger and able to do more than you ever expected as long as you keep at it!:thumbsup2

Ok good. Especially since I don't use this program but my DD(14) does. :scared1:
