My New Year's resolution is try to lose a bit of weight (20 lbs) and tone up/gain muscle. Thinking of doing the P90X system (13 dvds) and was wondering if anyone here has tried it. If so likes/dislikes/advice? Thanks in advance!:yay:

Someone my dh works with uses this, and is in great shape

I was just coming on here to post the same question! I have been working out pretty regularly for the past two years but just can't seem to get to where I want to be. I just ordered this program today and will hopefully start next week. I'll keep you updated on my progress and let you know how it works. If all goes well, maybe I'll even post before and after photos when I'm done:thumbsup2

Seems like you have to have big area with tv to do this. Like the results of the people on the infomercial, but as they say you need to have a big "lifestyle change" not sure if it is the right thing for me. Going to give it a try and see.

Ok, so I have completed two weeks on this program and it is the best thing I have ever done. I actually cancelled my gym membership yesterday because the results I am getting from this are better than anything I ever got at the gym...and I had a personal trainer for about 6 months! So far, I have lost 11 pounds and can already see the difference in my body. The workouts are great and really allow you to go at your own pace....I still struggle with the pull ups so I mainly use the resistance bands for those sections(but I'm sure that will change by the end). For anyone worried about the food, don't be. I don't really consider it a "diet" it's more of a nutrition plan. It basically tells you what foods to avoid but there are plenty of options. Last week for dinners I had salmon, turkey, chicken, halibut and london broil. I actually had to lower the suggested amount of calories because it was just too much food.
I'll keep you posted on my progress....if anyone is interested. I know I was very curious before I started if it would actually work.
P.S. I am by no means an "athlete".....6'2", 250lbs when I started two weeks ago. My goal is to get to 220lbs by the end of the 90 days.

Good luck to you! It's great to find something that truly works! :thumbsup2

And now I'm curious...

How much does it cost? I'm poor, but want to get into a shape other than round :rotfl:

That's great! I've postponed getting it until after my 3 day birthday weekend at Disneyworld next weekend. Then on 2/3 I will begin!:cool1:

checked the web site -
A $600.00 value for only 3 monthly payments of $39.95 (+$19.95 s&h)

I bought my program on ebay for about $80. My partner Paul is doing the program with me so we split the cost. Considering that my gym membership was running around $50 a month I think it was a wise investment:woohoo:

So I just passed the 30 day mark for the program. I'm now down 16 lbs! This program is awesome. Last night, I did my first pull-up ever....not just one either...I did 5! I've also found from doing the Yoga X and X Stretch programs that my flexiblity is greatly improved:scratchin
Tomorrow begins my greatest challenge since starting the program---VACATION! I leave for Vegas tomorrow for the weekend and then over to Disneyland on Monday. I'm going to do my best to keep up with my food plan but other than walking I don't see myself doing any intense workouts. I'm curious to see how this affects my progress.....

Good for you :thumbsup2
I want to try yoga but I'm scared to be the dumbest one in the class.
And I'm killing myself to get these 7 cruise/Thanksgiving/Christmas pounds off  damn stuff dose not want to go.

We bought these and they've done nothing but collect dust. Then again, we bought a Nautilus home gym and it's turned into a fantastic giant clothes hanger.

I don't know why we bother.

I just need to get back to doing Yoga. I did it for 10 years and find it to be the most amazing way to tone, get into shape and over all, feel better.

My partner and I do P90X. It has been the best thing that we ever did for exercise. We don't follow the diet that closely, but try to just eat healthy (or at least we consider healthy). So far i have lost 25 lbs, and the bf has put on some good muscle.
