He has a "foreign matter" in his intestinal tract, that he will eventually pass. We had to rush him to the vet today, and $436.00 that is what they found.:eek: Its not a blockage, as he has VERY runny stools, but it is like a Calcium like Substance. Needless to say, he is on 4 medications, and we are Hoping for a Speedy Recovery...and that this TOO shall pass!:rolleyes: ;)

AWWWWW... poor puppy. Sure hope he is feeling better very soon.

My dog once ate an entire turkey carcass out of our trash can. (We have since learned to take out bones before bed!) The vet was concerned since the bones were cooked and they were brittle. Said she could have a sharp piece puncture something. She managed to pass the whole thing, and lived for several years after that.

I'll keep your baby in my prayers. I'm betting it'll be okay.

Will keep PW in my thoughts, Faith.

Not so bad to spend the money when the news is positive. We spent over $500 a few months ago to find out one of our dogs was so sick she couldn't be saved and had to have her put down on the spot. :( :( :(

Keep us posted on PW.

Just be thankful he doesn't need surgery. One of our dogs had to have TWO intestinal blockage surgeries last year to the tune of $1800 a piece!:eek:

Awww, Faith....

This has been the week for our furbabies, hasn't it?

PW got a prayer, for him and his Mommy!

Love ya!

Robinrs

He is doing a little better, some of the medications are making him a little drowzy, but other than that, he is OK. We also have to give him Pepto Bismal--boy is that FUN!:rolleyes: We are trying to give it to him with a dropper, but, he HATES it and growls and snaps at us--Dachshunds DO NOT like thier Mouths touched--unless food is going IN!:rolleyes: Dianeschlict=WOW sorry to hear that, but they are worth it, aren't they?;) Love Ya, too Robin.;) Are you ready for Tonight?? AI AI AI! RUEBEN CLAY!:eek:

We have found that a medicine syringe works better than a dropper. You can get a little more force behind it and squirt it against the back of the throat. Less chance of tongue action getting the medicine out.

He is a very HEALTHY 15 years of age...the Doc was very IMPRESSED on how GREAT his Blood Counts were!:o (yes, Mommy and Daddy were beaming..):p :o Thanks MerryPoppins that is the one we have!;)

Glad to hear your friend is on the rode to recovery. Were sending ~pixie dust~ your way. We just lost ours on Friday due to unexpected cancer. $550 later, we have nothing but great memories. Give your pooch a hug for me!

Faith, wishing your furbaby all the best {{hugs}}
