Update - he is now stabilized, the dr.s think he has a disease called Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), they are doing tests to confirm this. Apparently this disease is very rare - one in a million people get it - and is very dangerous. He will need chemo and a bone marrow transplant. Any continued P&PTs you could spare for him and his family would be gratefully appreciated.
My friend's nephew is critically ill and they don't know what is wrong. He has suffered from chronic pain - migraines, fever, leg pain, weakness - for months. He spent 2 weeks in hospital earlier this month and they thought they finally knew what was wrong - rheumatic fever - and sent him home with iv antibiotics and a plan to keep him on oral antibiotics for 5 years.
Yesterday, he was rushed to hospital in critical organ failure - liver, kidneys - and he is in great pain and is terrified. He was airflighted to the children's hospital, where he is in PICU. The dr.s suspect leukemia, but many tests were done for cancer when he was in hospital earlier and they came back negative.
Please pray and send pixie dust for him - his name is Grant and he is 9 years old. They thought they were losing him earlier this evening, and he needs all the prayers he can get.
