Mum just phoned and she's down from theatre but not properly awake yet. Not sure if she went in late or it took longer - she was due back down an hour ago. I'm going up tonight with DSis.
I saw her last night and she was coherent, but very dehydrated having had nil by mouth for so long, and she got sleepy again towards the end. She's coming out today, and will be at home for 2 weeks before going back for a check-up.
She's home and seems fine, able to dress herself and get around, not in pain. Mind you, she keeps forgetting what the nurses etc have told her (mind you she's a bit deaf!) which might be the painkillers. My mum lives just down the road (literally, 10 houses away) so she's keeping an eye on her. She sees the consultant on Thursday for the results of the lymph gland biopsy, which will decide what further treatment she might need. But she's doing really well, and I'm sure its thanks to all your prayers and good wishes Thank you!!
The consultant confirmed it had not spread to her lymph glands, so she won't need another op She may need herceptin (sp?) they're waiting on results of the biopsy on the 2nd lump - the first was benign. We'll find out on Thursday
Mazda, continued thoughts and prayers for your family.
Are the drs talking about the shot "Heperin"? I know a couple of people who have had to take those and have not had problems with the shot. They did say it hurts a bit but you get used to it.
