P & PD for my Mom please!!

My Mom is turning 65 soon and will be retiring from her job after 20 years at the same time. Sjhe has just been diagnosed this week with cancer in a womanly spot.. She has about an 3 inch tumor on her ******l wall. The Dr is not going to surgically remove it but has decided on a 5 week course of radiation in addition to chemo once a week for 5 weeks. The Dr. told my Mom it's curable and it has not reached any other tissues or organs.. Thank God for that, still we are all really freaked out since this is our families first time having to deal with cancer, radiation and chemo and we just don't know what to expect. It just doesn't seem fair that this has to happen now, I want my Mom to be able to enjoy her retirement years that she worked so hard for. Please say a prayer and if anyone has any info with this type of cancer or any info , please let me know. I would appreciate it!! There is not much info out there on ******l cancer. Thanks!!

Good wishes and prayers are with your mom, jamzots. Do hope all goes well for her, sounds like it will.

Advice/info? I would suggest to stop by this thread, the breast cancer survivors thread http://130.94.75.33/showthread.php?t=810357 and say hello, ask questions, and get support. Not only breast cancer, any kind, other ailments also, a great group of ladies there.

Also, your mom, you, must be your own advocates. Ask questions, ask why. Write down your questions before you see the docs, very easy to forget while there. Always best to have someone with your mom for any treatment. And second opinions are VERY valuable also.
