P.O.T.C. On Stranger Rides! The Missing Chapter,,Final Thoughts,, Preview Thoughts.

As you read this feel sympathy for the de,,,Smidgy.
With the demise of her favorite soap opera, this is now
day 5 of No Life to Live.

Goodbye My Friend

This was more than just a show
This was our family
More than just what we know
These were our memories

We hold you dear in our heart
And rage against your dying
Tears stream as we must part
Nothing to stop the crying

We watched you grow and thrive
Through so many years
We laughed, we screamed, we loved, we cried
Now all that’s left are tears

We wanted you to stay and fight
You had so much left to give
But you must go gently into that good night
You only had One Life to Live

Oooohhh, I certainly hope that Miss Crabby Pants ran into her tray. Really, in the middle of the afternoon you're yelling at people because they're trying to sleep? Good lookin' out moving the tray in front of her door.

I thought it was the least I could do.

I'm not a fan of love bug season at Disney. I have experienced them twice, with one time being a "thick" love bug event. During that trip, there was absolutely no way to avoid them....they were literally everywhere!! :sad2:

It seems to me that it's mostly May and September when they are the worst, but I swear I've been there during some May and Septermber trips when they didn't bother me,,,, and I don't ever remember them being a bother at Pop Century.

Do you and Smidgy have tentative dates for the August trip? Any ideas as to where you might stay? I am really, really feeling the call of the 24 hour MK day on February 29th, but I just don't think I can pull it off right now. We are so close in driving distance, but to justify it at minimum I would want 5 days. APs are a good/bad thing, trust me......you will see soon!

I'm getting nervous for you Nebo on your possible injury, especially with your foreshadowing that the beast isn't done with you yet! :sad2:

I aint' scared of no Beast, bring it on, I say.
As for August, if all goes as planned, we will check into Pop on August 4, for 7 nights. We know our son, wife and Jackson will be flying down, we haven't decided what we are doing yet, it would be nice to have a car and all the stuff we usually bring down with us.

Buzz, thanks, glad to know im not the only one stuck far behind. Im still on page 120, let alone the dining reviews.

So I feel kind of way behind the times in typing comments, except for a couple:

The Hitler video: He spouted nonsense, nothing German. A couple of officers I think said something intellible, but not much.

And idea in german is Idee. I know this is probably way out of anyones range of memory, LOL. As I said, Im wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind. But im trying to catch up, really!

I wondered what he was saying, usually I can pick out a few words, but not this time.

Am I the only one with sympathy for the yelling lady? We've done the DL trip (the only time since our honeymoon that we shelled out the cash to stay at the DL Hotel) where DD kept us up all night when she got food poisoning. I can imagine that this woman may have had a similar experience.
But then, I'm the lady who, after a family dragged three suitcases down the stairs, one bag at a time, one step at a time, at 3 in the morning, stuck my head out and yelled, "Really?" The dad started to get into it with me, but his wife grabbed his arm to shush him and I closed the door. Don't mess with a mama who needs her beauty rest, or even worse, who needs her kids to get their rest.
Just playing

's advocate.

danielle.. ITA (sorry honey.. or anyone else).... as person who works nights, I totally understand people who sleep at various times of the day or night.. and knwo there are many reasons for this.

I am always amazed at how loud people (and esp, the kids) are in the hallways at resorts. I think it is polite to teach the kids "see sll these other doors? these are other roms.. with other people staying in them. so try to keep it down a bit until we get to the elevator"..

there are many reasons why someone might be sleeping in the middle of the day at a WDW resort. maybe they were up half the night with a little one.. maybe the little one is cranky, and they finally got her to sleep.

maybe they got bad news from home, and didn't sleep well the night before, worrying. and after a morning. the parks, they are tired enough to sleep

...

maybe someone is sick, and they finally got to sleep for a bit. maybe they worked till midnight and they had an early flight out, and they haven't slept and have an ADR for that evening.

I just think parents need to teach their children to tame it down while walking down hotel corridors. even outside corridors.

ok honey, you can now call me Mrs. crabby pants. :rotfl::rotfl2:

Ok, you're Mrs. Crabby Pants.
Cool, never thought there would be flaming on my thread, damn, I'm good.
However, in this case, these kids weren't THAT loud, and they were walking down the hall, not hanging out making noise right by the witch's room, at most they were by her room for less than 1 minute,,,, I was there.
And she didn't ask them nice to please keep it down, she
yelled at them.
So there!

Diane is right about WL being the loudest though, the noise just echoes downthe hallways.
Funny thing now that I think about it, our room at WL near the elevators is in almost the exact relation as our room was just now in AKL, right around the corneer, and
I didn't notice anywhere near the noise at AKL.

Wow, that was really touching.
I wasn't even a viewer of the show and I felt moved, really.

I wish somebody would have written something nice like that when
Joannie Loves Chachi was cancelled.

Here's a little sign for Smidgy, the lady in the hall, and me. Maybe we should get t-shirts, so all may be forewarned.

Just stopping in to say hi. I haven't posted in awhile and wanted to let you know that I am still reading.

We took two days off of our September trip so it is now down to five nights. Still at POFQ but hoping for free dining. If we have to pay for dining we will switch to POP. We always fly so we still have to book that yet.

I did get unemployment but for only 25 weeks??? At least it's something.

Hope everyone is doing good.

Are you sure you won't do a report for the May trip? :-)

I'm so far behind and probably won't be able to catch up any time soon. My grandmother passed away unexpectedly this morning... after 2 major heart attacks within hours of each other, early Saturday morning.
I wanted to stop in and ask for your prayer and good thoughts for my family. This is SO hard on my mom... but at least she's got our family to help her get through it.. thanks in advance for your prayers!

Sending hugs and prayers. We lost my mom to a series of heart attacks in September, so I feel your family's pain. Be gentle with yourself.

Joannie Loves Chachi was cancelled.

Happy Days are here and gone
And now we're so forlorn
Execs thought it swell
To make a sequel
Joannie loves Chachi came to be
Some thought it was meant to see
Though the show was tart
Here and gone like a bad smelling fart

Jay, one more thing: you said you had a chance to check out the Animation resort when y9ou stayed at Pop, how did you get over there, was the bridge open?

The bridge was closed but I got myself over there, to the main area before I was spotted and asked to leave. I can't imagine, based on what I saw, that it will be ready by May. It is completely dug up and unfinished to the point of it was hard to tell what buidling would be what.

Regarding the Black Forest Sandwich I would absolutely use a counter service credit on it. It is a meal in itself and no need for a side or dessert. Starring Rolls really is an underappreciated gem. You don't hear much about it but everything I have ever had there has been great.

Geesh, they grow 'em fiesty out there on the left coast.

Ok, if you are flying, then that's acceptable, but I'm not driving down for less than a 7 nighter. By the way, In My Humble Opinion, the best room to ask for at FQ is building 6, second floor and ask for facing the street. We have stayed there twice now, and actually ended up ONE stinkin room away from each other, with the best being the corner room. It is just far enough away from the food court and pool to make a nice little walk, it's a great view facing the inner street, but go around a corner and now you have a river view, and the hores and buggy route comes down the main river pathway and makes an inner turn at Building 6, so is will clop, clop, clop right below you on the street going by.

It's also not THAT bad a walk to Riverside from there, should you be so inclined to walk over to Boatwright's for dinner or to see Yee Ha Bob.

I did get unemployment but for only 25 weeks??? At least it's something.

O Kitty, it should be 26 weeks, and that' s all you can get at a time. Then you have to look and watch out for smaller extensions, usually in the 13 week category. I believe the maximum that folks have gotten in recent years, is 99, they even call those people 99ers.
After that they are S.O.L. and even are no longer counted as being unemployed. Sooooooo, if you get enough people out of work long enough, they drop outof the system and when the statistics are released they are no longer listed as unemployed, so the rate drops, even thoug all these people are still out of work.

Hope everyone is doing good.

Are you sure you won't do a report for the May trip? :-)

I have no idea on another report, maybe just a highlights one, but I've said that before and 100 pages later,,,,, I'm definately looking forward to something different though, and that's with Jackson and Todd and Kim, in August. It may make for a different type of trippy though, won't be doing much drinking on that trip,,, no, not making Jackson up some Sunny D's.

Ok, im all caught up, whew!! Carry on....

Ach du lieber, was es los mit du?
Ok, now you can keep up with the regular class again, but falling far behind at the end of the report is verboten!

By the way, now that you're caught up, I just posted a "re-worked" review on the Biergarten from my secong trip report, so you are not caught up. Don't worry though, I didn't make any lame attempts at trying to speak German in it, well, not really.

Aw Becka, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you have plenty of good memories file away in you personal mental hard drive that can keep you seeing her for many years to come. My Gram was my beer drinking, poker buddy who passes suddenly and 25 years later, I still miss her.

That was terrific Shawn. You know, I originaly had posted that as "My Mother the Car" , then I looked at it and thoght about it and realized that most people won't even know the title, then I sat and thought for ten minutes an what would be the best cancelled stupid show to replace it and that's what I ended up with.

The bridge was closed but I got myself over there, to the main area before I was spotted and asked to leave. I can't imagine, based on what I saw, that it will be ready by May. It is completely dug up and unfinished to the point of it was hard to tell what buidling would be what.

Grrr, You are gonna make me ask this just the right way, huh? If the bridge is closed how did you get over there? Climb a tree and jump? Tunnel under? Steal a workman' uniform?
We'll be in Disney in April at CSR, but are staying at Pop in August, I'd kind of like to maybe get a peek in April on what's across the bridge from Pop, and if it's maybe worth it to go over there with my son and grand son.

A A few years ago, I read a review by the All ears guy, Jack Spence, and he's the guy that put the sandwich on our radar at Starring Rolls. He also said it's just as good over at Sunshine Seasons at The Land in Epcot. We went there last trip to get just that, and could not find it on any menu there, and ended up getting the pork chops, which is strange for a counter service meal, but it was very good also.

Jay

For Starring Rolls...I'm pretty sure if you're on the dining plan you get to pick one of their fabulous cupcakes as a dessert. The CS meal is probably enough to share. It is on my list for our DHS day for lunch. Of course my DH wants sushi so I will be getting the ham sandwich all to myself! ;)

Also, thanks for the info on unemployment, wasn't sure how it works.

I have a great visual of the *ahem* "nice lady" stepping right into the half eaten food on her dirty tray then falling flat on her face, all this while several families with small children are walking down the hall and before the parents can hush them the children all point and laugh. Works for me! :jumping1: I never said I was nice!

above is a quote from Nebo. I guess he really took it to heart that we were in the french quarter, and thought we were in the "red light" district.;).. I was wondering why he heard the "clip clop", then went running out to yell something at the the girl reining in the horses.
the next night as we walked to the DSA, I thought she steered the horses a bit too close to nebo, with a nasty look on her face:mad:.

I thought all along that only part of it would be open on time and possibly one or two sections a few months later.
