Oh that's right, I was going to fill you in on latest developments and I forgot.
Again.
Dang Bears,,,,,,,, Oh MAN that hurt,,, so bad, so bad, season's over, all gone, all gone, byo baby by-o, Daddy's gone a-..... I'm sorry, not myself.
Did I mention that game sucked? geesh
Ok, I,,,, we,,,, have been hoping to be able to get a spring trip in ,,,,,, well,,,,, next spring.
Yes, that's how these type of things work, if you want to take a spring trip, you usually end up having to go sometime in the spring, or, the Vernal Equinox for you hoity toity types.
But the room only code only went mid March, and Free Dining only went to end of March, which is still "Just write a blank check and we will fill in the numbers" peak, holiday season at Disney. We want regulary season,,,(after April 15, and before Mama's Day, May 13, I think).
This drops down to regular season rates, way better.
We were hoping for Free Dining which is still the best deal unless you are on a hunger strike, but I kinda doubt a free Dining extension is coming for the spring, got a feeling it's going to go back to just being in September like it was in the beginning.
Couple days ago, room only rates came out, and we ounced on them.
They are good till mid June,,,, let's see, and don't hold me to this, but I will be close...............
AS Sports and Music,,,,,, 20 % off.
Nuttin, for Movies, cept Maybe, Maybe, 5 percent off
20 % off for Riverside, but nuttin for French Quarter but maybe 5% again.
No, not bothering here right now with the deluxes, they were in the 20- 25 range, except CR which was, once again, eveybody? maybe 5%.
The most off was at SSR and OKW, as usual, 30% off over by them. Hey, for the best info on this, click on Mousesavers,, it's easier to understand than on the Dis.
What intrigued us though was the 25% off at CBR and Coronado, Now you're talkin'!
Our last stay at CSR was in Feb of '08, a 5 night stay that didn't have it's own trip report due to the ongoing report of our first December, holiday trip,, Honey I shrunk the Checkbook. The last Coronado stay was the one where we spent a couple days in Kissimmee at America's Best Value inn,,,, when our room was literally falling apart around us!
We figured it was time to hit CSR again.
We plan on flying, and doing it that way frees up a couple of extra days so we have a 10 day stay booked at Coronado, April 29 to May 9.
We are still hoping to go later in the year with son, Todd and wife Kim and finally, FINALLY, grandson Jackson!
So plan for right now is to purchase 6 day base tickets, then when we get there, bridge them into Annual Passes, this then turns our base tiks into Hopper passes too.
Doing it this way leaves us still open in case a free dining deal comes along, cuz you have to buy a park ticke to get that, and the price will be the same, we just pay the difference between a 6 day base ticket and annual pass.
Then!, we can now use the benefits of the annual passes, in case Smidgy wants to do the Richard Petty Driving experience or the Spitting Cobra Spittoon Challenge!
Now, here comes the screwy part that can only happen to us,,,, well,, that's the way I,,,, or most people would feel abbout something like this.
We really love Coro,,,, stayed there 3 times now, once in Cabanas and twice in Casitas, but it's a place that you had either best be on the dining plan, or never plan on eating at the resort itself, or drive down and bring your own food.
While the choices at the food court are definately "interesting", the choices are also interestingly "High",,,, PLUS, they add and extra ten percent tip automatically if you eat there, but if you're on the dining plan, then all is ok.
Since we chose CSR, and we are flying down, for the first time in our lives we are doing what I have always wanted to do, and that is to get just the quick service dining plan.
Well, to be hones, it's what I really wanted to do a year or two ago.
Now, since you have to pay for a mug that comes with it,
even the QSDP costs way too much to me, it's 35 a night, per person.
But at CSR, you WILL recoup the cost if you plan things well;
they have steaks and ribeyes and pork chop meals over 20 bucks there, that fall into the counter sercice category.
If you couple that with, oh, say, Flame tree BBQ RIBS

, places like Wolfgang Puck and their Meatloaf hockey pucks,,,Sunshing Seasons and other of the more higher to the buyer, the hoity to the toity, or the rootin' to the tootin" of the Dining Plan users, you can still get your money's worth.
Anyeay,,,,, I'm looking forward to it!
"Oh boy, finally the quick service plan, don't have to set it in stone, dominate the schedule,,, and if I choose wisely, I can get the triple chocolate cake for deserts and snacks every day!
What can go wrong?
My euphoria lasted 3 and a half hours.
Looking at the restaurants and confirmed snacks,,,, and menu threads right here on our beloved DIS,,,,,,,,,,
I came across a thread ,,,, brand,,,,, spanking new thread
i should add,,,,,, that spaketh of possible changes to
Pepper Market at Coronado Springs.
This was all November 30, and it said that on the 4th, today, Pepper Market will cease their usual service for breakfast and dinner, and become Buffet's for those two meals until at least Jan. 4, A one month trial period.
Breakfast is 15 per person,,,,, lunch is 17 per person, dinner is supposed to stay as is.
For now.
The regular Maya Grill, the fance eatery there which we have eaten at once and liked,, will no longer be oopen for THEIR own breakfast buffet, and will have a revised menu.
But these buffets are staying as counter service credits for now.
Ok, the DINING PLAN contract is about to expire with all parties involved, how many of you believe that Pepper Market will offer Break and Lunch buffets as counter service meal credits,,, value prices?
This is a trial,,,, uh uh,,, the chance I think is zero it stayhing counter service credit prices, which means we are SOL!
They say they are going to add items to Cafe RIx,,,,,,, which seats 50,,,,,but c'mon, there are over 1900 rooms there, perpper Market as a counterservice as it was wasn't big enough,,, and evne though you can get sandwiches at Siestas with fries,,,, it always closes early at 6:30 for food, so that won't work.
Which brings us to me not being happy.
I can't believe it, finally book a trip I was looking forward to for a long time, and NOW, NOW, they have to go and change porridge!
Just about everybody thinks that Pepper Market has been searching for it's own identity for a long time,,,, and with the current Disney Dining deal about to expire, they are willing to try "whatever", to make some money for a change.
No, what I think, it's not run by Disney and I think too many people there are working harder on stealing identities than they are of creating new identities.
This is run by the same company that runs the Mexico Pavillion in Epcot, San Angel Inn,,, and et al,,,but obviously priorities will shift. I got the feeling that previously they were more focused on stealing identities rather than building new ones at Pepper Market.
Even back in 08', that kinda cold Feb trip for only 5 days,
it seemed like the mantra I heard more thatn once from what I was positive was some conventioneers, was on the line of,,,,,,,,
"Honey, did you pick up my card? "
"No, why would I?"
""Because I can't seemt to find it now why, that's why."
Yeppers, seeems I heard something similar to that more than once in those five days there.
BUT,,,,,,
We are going back,,, and can't wait! Really looking forward to it, and hoping the food situation goes back to normal there, or, at the very least, (MOST?) , they leave dinner at least alone and we still have
counter servix meals available for us at ten at night or so.
Oh boy,,,, oh monty, monty.... you all see it by now,,,
do I leave it? Maybe only a few of you have seen it yet, I walked away for a few moments,,,,,maybe ten minutes so it could be already too late.
Boy, one more typo in that word and it would have been the grand Salami of TYPOS, but I don't think I'm having a counter ser..........meal tonight.
Anyway, dat's our trip, a ten nighter at CSSR, we have never stayed in the Ranchos,,,,ok,, we would LIKE to stay in building 7B. That is our request, 7B,,,,, and that is it!
Not 7A, not 6A, not 6B, not 6 to leave.
7 B is our calling, or Diane will be bawling, but we'll see what they say, ,,, we'd accept that 9-A.
Anyway, there you have it,, I don't like this. I don't like thow they went and messed with it just, and only, because we went and booked it late that morning.
Anybody out there with more info, please help us here, I just want to know if maybe we should switch over to CBR again? Mamacitamarita? Do you know if these meals will stay counter service?
Or will even the dinner meal go to a table service buffet, and then, what in the world will the whole resort do for much needed counterservice?
Again, never had a 2 counter service meal a day deal before, and thought that maybe I'd be actually able to eat in the morning for a change, rather than be forced to always have to take vicodin instead.
Ok, Smidgy, Janet, Ponzi, Shawn, Buzz, ,,,,, Jamie, Brett, Rush, Cusack,, George, John, John and, and, of course, my buddy, my buddy Chanandler Bing!, you guys all keep quiet please and don't look at me in that tome of voice!
Most people think it will become something similar in a way to Boma's, eventually,,,,,,,, but as for simple counter service fair that you can get after 7 at night,,,,, or cold dusty ciabatta or whatever those pre-made things that look like they were garnished and sprinkled with dry-wall dust to give the resort that "still preparing for the big opening day coming up soon" feeling,
Wow, my little snide, "comment' turned into a Phillibuster, which is what I always called this kinda rambling, named after my old boss at work, but, we really are both looking to stay back at CSR, we don't need to bug our acquantances for DVC points, haven't stayed here since I was almost panicky looking for work in 08', and,,,
o yeah, our last stay here was when we found Vista Del lago, where we really want to live.
Ok doke, ni ni,,,,,,,,,tis I , neb
