P.O.T.C. On Stranger Rides! The Missing Chapter,,Final Thoughts,, Preview Thoughts.

Eeee GAH! More shots in the eye? You are stronger than I. Hope it goes well and you feel ok.

How do you have so much trouble in elevators? Try to remember to take the stairs when Smidgy isn't with you.

Aw, Nebo, we're pulling for you, honest... Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my... well, good luck, anyway.

Hey gang, good news;
He thought my good eye, (right) was looking pretty stable so why risk messing with it so no shot.

He injected the left eye again instead.
But at least right now I acan kind of see a little , darn dilation.
Gonna do some call outs in a shorten version probaby, I have most ot the next chapter finished and stil want to get it up tonight.

yep, I did. Didn't have a clue so had to Google it. And now I know why. Never been. Never will apparently.

Yeah, that really is a shame.

:headache: From this point forward you are no longer allowed to make any comments about any bad puns I or any one else makes.

Especially me.

:happytv:Yeah, suppose you have a pointthere.[/B

A call for a call... is that like an eye for an eye? Whoops! Sore spot! Pretend I didn't say that. :rolleyes1

Very sore spot right now, why is it that everything that's supposed to meke you better has to hurt?

Me too! I find that when I'm in bed sleeping, I rarely have mishaps.

Not me, sometimes I do my worst damage to my sleff when I'[m sleeping, like the time I woke up on my stomach in a big bean bag chair and was looking at the ceiling, I called it Exorcist neck.

Ooh, I hate premature...

agitation.

thin ice comes to mind right now

And then you were walkin' out the door.

i always thought that was one of they're worst songs.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Did you see the episode with Megan Fox? It doesn't get much more cerebral than that! Or something.

Actually, I have never seen an episode of it.

Was it a DSA elevator, or something?

vexxed? One more x and we'd have a much different TR!

Oh yes, nothing ever xxx here on this report.

Next time, try calling out: "Beam me up, Smidgy!"

I have, and I always get, "I'm sorry sir, that number you have dialed is not in service at this time, please energize again later.

Geez, don't you hate it when someone figures they've spelled a word wrong, like somnambulistic, and go on and on about it, only to have spelled it right in the first place?

It's enough to give you insomjina.

Oh you're kidding, I had it right the whole time? Boy, when you really need a typo it's never there.

I actually know exactly how you felt. When I was in grade 6 or thereabouts, I got turned around in the school yard and went in through the wrong door. Our school was actually built to house two schools with the shared gym in the middle. I wound up in the 'other' school but didn't know it. Turns out it was a mirror image of 'my' school. For about 10 minutes, I was totally confused because everything looked normal, but not 'right'. Only when I got to the gym (and only after experiencing a weird sensation like the world revolving 180 degrees) did I figure it out. If you've ever seen 'Journey to the Far Side of the Sun', you'll know what I mean.

I havae seen it but it's been a really long time since. It was an alternative reality, right?

Yup... Because there are still tons of people who would categorically refuse to be on the 13th floor. The same people who have absolutely no problem staying on the 14th floor... 13 floors up. :confused3

I always thought the same thing, 13 is 13, whether it's named it or not.

Oh, really? So there's a happy ending? How nice! Was the shrimp served on iceburg lettuce?

Oh crap, now I've gotta tell it:
A Jewish man and a Chinese man are in a bar drinking, and after too many, the Jew smacks the Chinese guy saying he never forgave his kind for attacking Pealr Harbor.
"What are you talking about, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, not the Chinese."

"Yeah, yeah, Chinese, Japanese,,, all the same thing," he said back.

Little while later the Chinese guy whacks the Jewish guy saying, "Well, I've never forgiven you for sinking the Titanic."

"Now what are you talking about, an iceberg sand the Titanic, not Jew."

"Yeah yeah, iceberg, Goldberg, Greenberg
,,,,,,,"

[

And thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Awww... Nebo, that sucks. The pun, I mean. Oh, okay, the eye too. But if it's for the good of your eyes then I guess it's all good. Good luck with that.

thanks Ponzi, nice breakdown as usual, that was a fun chapter to do.

Good golly!

I've never called in sick at my current job, but I think I would call in sick for EVERYTHING if I were getting a shot in the eye (good one or bad).

Good luck!

there yjou are, thought we'd lost you. Hey congrats on the series, you gonna miss Tony? And what about Mike as a replacement for him? I thiought that was a strange pick for them.

Aw, Nebo, we're pulling for you, honest... Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a needle in my... well, good luck, anyway.

U 2 funny,,, ha and ha!

And here i thought you had partied so hard reveling in the punishment your Bears put on the Lions, that you just couldn't see the keyboard through bloodshot drunken eyes. :)

That was a strange strange game. It looked like the Bears just dominated the entire game, but did you know they gave up almost 400 yards to the Lions offense?

Sorry to hear about tomorrows adventure.. i don't envy you one bit.. I can't even imagine the pain and discomfort involved in all that.. Makes me shudder just thinking about you.. Just have one word of advice.. let yourself go to a happy place when you get there. (too bad you can't stock up on Manhattans before you go..

we'll be thinking about you.

Thanks Frank and the others, at least I now have another month before I have to do it again.

Nebo!!

Another great chapter and probably the funniest TR chapter I have ever read. I laughed from start to finish. My kids were looking at me like I was a crazy person. Staring at the laptop laughing out loud! Funniest part of all was that I could totally picture in my head what that entire scene must of looked like, especially the looks on the other elevator passengers faces when this demented, crazy man was cruising up and down.

And more importantly, how about your Bears and my Pats!! Two games I thought could definitely end up in the loss column and they both turned out to be full fledged spankings!

Yah, and almost the exact same scores tooo! Boy, does it seem like almost a year ago we were talking about the Pats and Bears maybe meeting up again in the SB? Maybe this year.:rotfl2:

Why on earth any coach would EVER allow his kicker or punter to kick it to Devin Hester is beyond me. It gives me flashbacks of Bill Parcells kicking it to Desmond Howard in the Pats-Packers Super Bowl way back when.

Excuse my while I puke at the thought of that..............

I think they all want to be the guy who said, "I'm not changing my strategy for just one guy, we'll cover him like we do everybody else. Funny thinkg is, I've watched football for a long time, and Howard was terrific too, but Sayers had the most amazing moves,,, and I never see Hester really make any amazing type moves that deke you out of your shoes, it's like he just has a vision on the field and knows where he needs to go without needing to make the super shifty moves.

Jay

Not gone but busy. Mostly in a good way. Mom celebrated her 80th birthday on Saturday which we hosted at our place. I cooked her fave meal and we all had a great time. But work then cleaning then prepping then set up then cooking then party means pkondz has been verrrrrry busy. Dsis is in from out of town and she was over on Sunday. Plus playoff football up here. I hope to be able to rip apart.... I mean horrifically mangle.... I mean pleasantly comment, on your chapter soon!

You like to cook huh? That's great, don't let Smidgy know, she'll expect it from me.
And playoff football up there?
Oh, right. Don't you hate having to pick up each pieace after everyplay and make sure you push the little plastic points backward so when you turn it on, they don't all just buzz around in circles?

Ok, ok, I'm gettin back to work,,,, won't be too long now,,,

(man, I have this feeling I have left myself wide open up above somewhere that will be taken the wrong way,,,,,)

Nebo: Knock knock

Readers: No knock knock, here's a knock knock for you:
Readers: Knock knock
Nebo: Ok, fine, "who's there?"
Readers: Police
Nebo: Police?

Readers: Yes, Police don't attempt any more knock knock jokes.

You know, every once in a while I'll come across something that just strikes me funny, especially if it's from a sense of humor I had never heard of from before.
Kinda like if Richard Nixon ever joked during a press conference like Reagan did.

This is from Golda Meir, the ex- prime minister of Israel a long time ago:

"Moses dragged us through the desert for all that time to the one place in the Middle East that doesn't have oil."
----------------------------------------------------------------

Back in the room, I put the ice bucket down, and Smidgy said, "You know, the cooler is low on ice too."

No, I didn't go for her throat but I wanted to, instead I just went over and peaked in, "Yep, it can wait until morning, or later on when I feel like it, whichever comes first."

I'm still trying to shake myself awake, and the last thing that sounds good to me right now is a drink, I'm more in a coffee and toast mood right now, but I FORCED myself to adapt.

We sat on the balcony for a bit with our drinks, then Smidgy made up some Sunny D's for us to bring to the park.

These are always made with vodka, and small ice cubes forced inside the bottle.
The difference between us is that I like mine much stronger than she does, so after they are made up, we have to keep them separate, we aren't ready to leave just yet so they go back in the cooler.

Too many times they were then placed in the cooler with the next line
when we are ready to leave, being, "Ok, which one's mine?"

We finally came up with a solution to this vexxing situation, at least, Diane did.
For the last couple years when we do the making up the drinks ahead of time so we can leave when we are ready, she has always put MY bottle on the right side of the cooler, hers on the left.

But, invariably, I will forget this procedure, like I did today, and stupidly ask, "ok, which one is mine again?"

And there's something about the way she answers me that bugs me,,,

"Steve is always right!" "Steve is always right."

I used to kind of chuckle to myself at the wisdom of this statement,
but lately it seems like it's said with more and more, contempt.
Sometimes I don't even have to ask which one is mine, I can just go to the cooler and open it and hear, "Steve is always right, Steve is always right."

Even when we checked in here, there is only one bed plus a pull out,,, and I asked her which side she wanted,,,,,

"Steve is always right, Steve is always right."

See what I mean?

Then it was time to set out again, in the hallway, I suggested taking the stairs, "It's only 15, I mean, 14 floors down."
She wasn't having it.

There was some fear in my heart when we turned into the short elevator hallway. Once inside I was just about jumping up and down pointing out to her how there is no 13th floor.

She responded by yawning.

Once again, we set out for the Magic Kingdom on foot, we decided to spend our last park day here also since yesterday was lost, so tonight, no worries, no problems, we just mainly want to see Wishes.

It was at this time that I started to definately think that BLT is not as close as advertised, it's quite a walk.

No problem getting the Sunny D's through customs, and though we weren't going to maybe do too much, we got a lot done before Wishes time, at nine o'cluck.

Right to Tomorrowland, took a picture. By the way, in the room I noticed the date was off on the camera and tried to reset it, messed it up again though, this time we went back in time.

068.jpg

And I see on the picture that we did indeed go back in time, and now I'm messing with it on the TTA, I get closer bgut still not right.

We finished our Sunny's on the TTA, and I proved that a loaded camera can be a dangerous thing:

069.jpg

Right, those "Hold out the camera in front of you and press the button" are always great shots!
And you should see the ones that didn't make it into Photobucket.

Time for Buzz, no, not my little friends, Lightyear, and for a change, I actually won! Right in the beginning I accidentally hit a huge pointer where suddenly I was up 25000 points, and it wasn't from the back of the big robots arm, no idea what I hit.
It also helped that I had control of the car, and while I just kept my trigger pressed the entire ride, as soon as I saw her aiming for something I'd spin the car around!

She wanted to cause me great bodily harm!

On the way out Smidgy wanted a picture of us on the ride, no problem, got the camera out and took a picture of the picture. Yes, this is how we do things up here in Redneck Carpentersville, Illinois.

070.jpg

Then it was over to Philharmagic and just as it was starting to get a little dark, Haunted Mansion, I wanted to get a couple of pictures of the new changes in the queue before it was too dark.

There was more to it than I thought there would be, now you almost have to choose a line,,,, the cool stuff to look at is on the left with the fast walk line to the right.
Take your time going through here, there's some interactive things too.

091.jpg

And of course the trick is to catch her with her eyes open:

092.jpg

We soon used our fastpassses for BTMR again and I guess they shot Big Bird because Splash Mountain was open, and we barely got spritzed with water.
By the way, fastpasses were barely needed, even though it is a Monday, normally a crowded day at MK.

076.jpg

Even though we have passes for Jungle Cruise, I guess once a day was enough and we passed on it and worked out way back to Tomorrowland to do the TTA once more around at night while we get ready for Wishes.

Oh, and I forgot right after we did Buzz, we also got in Casserole of Progress, I had a little airplane bottle with me too which didn't see the exit alive.

This should be the TTA at night:

093.jpg

Right before Wishes, the castle did some lighting I had never seen before:

073.jpg

I remember we started on the Tomorrowland bridge, but then moved down to our usual spot on Main St. because when they made an announcement, I could tell it was going to be too quiet over there for my liking: I like my soundtracks loud to drown out the people who just won't shut up around you.

072.jpg

This one too, doesn't this look different?

074.jpg

Then, it was about to start.

094.jpg

095.jpg

096.jpg

As I'm standing there trying for the best pics and it's coming to an end I decided to try something;
that's right, it's time for,,,,,,
ANOTHER NEBO VIDEO!

turn up your speakers, it's no fun without the music, and besides, you can imagine the quality audio that is going to come from that little hole in the front of the 79 dollar digital camera that acts as a microphone.

It was time to go

But right outside was a mob scene, with cast members trying to organize lines of people who need to get to a resort or the TTC. Lots of yelling, lots of confusion, people running this way and that, authority figures trying to snag them and throw them back in the ring. Securtity was there, also yelling through megaphones, we just stood off to the side and watched for a bit.
One guy fell down, a woman kneeled over him with her hands raised to the sky like that famous Kent State picture.

What caused all this chaos and turmoil?

The monorail was down again, and not intentionally.

It was a nightmare out there for those people that were dependent on it,, yes, BLT came through this time as we just walked back to our resort.

When we got to the elevators though, a woman was standing there with about six little kids running around her, all yelling, bouncing off the walls, running in circles, and all wearing mouse ears hats. It was kind of freaky looking, with the woman just standing there waiting for an elevator to arrive while the demolition squad went at it all around her.

This looked like a perfect example of overtired kids tripping on windowpane cottoncandy and I didn't want any part of them. Octomom or whomever it was seemed just oblivious of them, it's possible that if they are all her kids that she has resigned herself to throw herself off the balcony as soon as she gets to her room.
I thought this and hoped for her sake that her room was high enough, hope she didn't get the room we turned down on the fourth floor. As they say in M*A*S*H, Suicide is Painless, as long as you're high enough, or that's not a BB gun.

Otherwise, it hurts.

The door dinged, and quickly I held out my arm to stop Smidgy, "After what I've just gone through getting the ice today, the last thing in the world I want is to be trapped in a little tiny room with a bunch of feral mouseketeers."

I could easily picture it inside the elevator with them, be like
violently shaking a snow globe with yourseld inside of it.

We waited and caught the next bus.

Before I sign off for tonight, I want to post a couple of other pictures I had forgotten about.
This one, a nighttime view from our balcony got missed I think;

047.jpg

and lastly,,,,, this is a you had to be there picture I guess.

064.jpg

You can tell what it is, right?

Yep, a full moon, and I was just fascinated by it, not sure why but it was just so clear to me, maybe Prof. Lupin can explain it to me.

Here boy, c'mon, that's a good boy.

Oh, by the way, for those that care the next line of the
"Jump up for Jinkies" would then be the audience participation part,
"We love 'em!" But it had to be said quickly.

Yes, this is from a skit at the Adventurer's Club, when they would come out and recruit you to follow them into another room. This was, I believe if I remember correctly, based on an old time radio show.

Know what?
We didn't really care a whit about Pleasure Island, at least I really didn't ,, but we loved the Adventurer's Club, I can't believe they couldn't find a way to save it, or move it to DD, or maybe even to the Animal Kingdom. Ok, now that I think about it, I'd maybe appreciate the Comedy Club they had there too now that I have my bionic ears.

Well, this turned out to be a very pleasant evening for us, therapeutic, if you will.
Tomorrow is a resort day for us, meaning, no parks, the only thing we have to take care of is getting our car back from the Goodyear Car Care Center.

I should have realized that the Beast would be waiting for us there!

Night all, sweet dreams, don't let the bedbugs bite.

Dang! I'm running so late that I won't be able to read the new chapter until tomorrow! :headache: Just a couple of things before I sign off...

Hey gang, good news;
He thought my good eye, (right) was looking pretty stable so why risk messing with it so no shot.

That is great news! Sorry you still had to get a shot, but glad you can see.

Gonna do some call outs in a shorten version probaby, I have most ot the next chapter finished and stil want to get it up tonight.

I'm happy for you that you were able to get it up tonight. I'm sure Smidgy will be pleased too. :rolleyes1

I havae seen it but it's been a really long time since. It was an alternative reality, right?

Mirror image planet earth 180 degrees other side of sun from us. Astronauts go to investigate, land. Think they're going nuts 'cause everything is the same, except mirror image. Don't remember how it ends. Been a while for me too!

Gotta run!

Mirror image planet earth 180 degrees other side of sun from us. Astronauts go to investigate, land. Think they're going nuts 'cause everything is the same, except mirror image. Don't remember how it ends. Been a while for me too!

!

there is a major investigation. "WHY did you turn around and come back?!?"...... "we didn't!" in the end I think they just sent them back to the planet on the far side of the sun. so bopth versins of the main character went home? not sure if there was some tragedy,. but...the "boss" was in a wheelchair at the end, with a blanket on his lap. in a long hallway, which ended in a full length mirror. he looked at his reflection, wondering if the "other him"
on the other side of the sun was doing the same. and then headed full barrell into the mirror (to his death, we assumed).

and we were very happy to hear the news today about the right eye. we were so torn about whether or not he should have an injection in the good eye, but the dr. thought there "might" be blood vessels developing (thickening).. today he said "no looks good, he's very pleased" whew!

Glad the good eye got a reprieve - that's eye before e, right?
I know what you mean about the alternate universe. We go to DL a few times a year, and when we are at MK(rarely), it's a very strange feeling. Like, shouldn't there be a restroom here, or where's the ice cream place down the alley?
Feral mouseketeers :rotfl:

oh man! you have been hanging around with Nebo way too long!!!:rotfl: that is SO such a Nebo line!!!!
good job!!:rotfl2:

that was the "making memories" show on the castle. we missed most of it , trying to find a spot to watch wishes. we had a miscommunication betwixt the 2 of us, as to which of the 2 tomorrowland bridges we were talking about to watch it from. then, I think I took us on a wrong turn.

so we found a spot, but not the spot Nebo wanted. by the time we decided it would be ok after all, we were surrounded by numerous chatty non-English speaking families. It happened s l o w l y... a kid here or there. and we ususally will let kids in front of us(nope, NOt the parents, aunts uncles, 5 great uncles twice removed, etc). but, when you are dealing with non english speaking folks, they just yel over you to their kids, who yell bakc, and grab at mom and dad, who pull in the rest, and next thing you know, you are in the midst of a united nations teleconference, and, since they don't speak english anyway, they don't give a HOOT about the story, Jiminy cricket, or anything else... and just want to yell to each other, and suddely, YOU are in THIER way!!!

and, no, I am NOT being ethnocentricat all. they invaded our space we had first.

and it always amazes me, just about every disney nighttime show... WHY?? is it that everyone wants to Talk through the whole thing???? you haven't talked to each other all day long? you can't talk to each other in 15minutes? aarrgghh!!!

I am going to have to try that sunny D trick at MK. I was sitting here reading along, cracking up in all the right places while my family looks at me like I have grown a second head :lmao: Glad to hear you had better news at the doctor today even though you didn't escape the shot. I don't know if I could take it. Now back to reading your other reports until the next installment. :hippie:

I am going to have to try that sunny D trick at MK.

In the financial news today. Oil reached record highs as consumer demands grew. Shares in 'SunnyD' rose 40% from last week. A spokesperson at DisneyWorld Florida noted a large increase of patrons sporting one or more bottles of SunnyD at the turnstiles.

In a related story, officials at DisneyWorld are puzzled at the number of patrons seen staggering off Dumbo and the Carrousel. A spokesperson was quoted as saying, "I've never seen anything like it! All these people are coming off the rides, waving their little juice bottles in the air and staggering dizzily around like the rides were going 100MPH. Really the rides are quite tame. We just don't understand what's going on. And Small World riders are so dizzy that they can't even exit the boats! They just go around again. Usually people can't wait to get off the boats, but these people just cheer and open another bottle of SunnyD and off they go. We're at a total loss."

Great Chapter, Nebo! Glad you had a great evening! MK does always make things better....can't wait for it to do that for me on Friday!!!!:dance3:

I've been in Texas for almost 2 weeks so I got behind but now i"m all caught up....again.

I honestly don't know how anyone could judge you for your decision to stay in florida. That is such a personal thing.

Watching someone you love decline is so very hard, but wonderful at the same time that you were able to spend so much time with him before he passed.

We faced a similar situation on our first ever wdw trip when d.jay's grandma passed away. She was closer to him than his own mom but we knew that she would want us to stay. We had left our kids at home with the mil, so we had to find some one else to step in and watch the 4 kids for a few days untill we got home. It was still hard but the decision was right for us.

I wish I could reach through the computer and give you two a big hug!

My favorite spot to watch wishes is to take a right just past the popcorn cart after the Tomorrow land bridge down along that path I always get a good spot against the railing without having to get there ridiculously early. We usually end up pretty close to being right under Tinkerbell.
Speaking of Sunny-D's There was a very funny thread in the theme park strategies section about people who sneak booze into MK. You need Asbestos underwear to take the flaming but it did make me laugh.
When I saw you were starting a new Trip report one of the first things I thought was it will be fun to see what Nebo and Smidgy think of the new magic memories and me thing they put on the castle. I was blown away when I saw it. It looks like you pretty much missed it while you were jockeying for a spot.

We would just love to be able to compare the parks in Disneyland,, sometime, someday maybe we can rent points and fly out there. YOu need a Magicla Express out there.

As Hushup just noted, you should checkk out the thread on alcohol at MK, it's pretty funny how there is no grey area there, and not much grey matter there either. If I posted what we do over there I'd be drawn and Quartered. I also love your ticker, a Disney trip combined with a Daytona 500 trip, now you're talkin!

that's good! I always wanted to set up a stand during the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot selling vodka and Sunny D in a genuine keepsake Fuzzy Cup!

Almost time, huh? Hope the weather stays the way it has been for you, I still check it every day and it's been just about perfect lately.

We had left our kids at home with the mil, so we had to find some one else to step in and watch the 4 kids for a few days untill we got home. It was still hard but the decision was right for us.

I wish I could reach through the computer and give you two a big hug!

Thanks Cherie, we have no problems with what we decided either. By the way, what's in Texas?

My favorite spot to watch wishes is to take a right just past the popcorn cart after the Tomorrow land bridge down along that path I always get a good spot against the railing without having to get there ridiculously early. We usually end up pretty close to being right under Tinkerbell.

Have you ever been hit with Tinkerbell droppings?

Speaking of Sunny-D's There was a very funny thread in the theme park strategies section about people who sneak booze into MK. You need Asbestos underwear to take the flaming but it did make me laugh.
When I saw you were starting a new Trip report one of the first things I thought was it will be fun to see what Nebo and Smidgy think of the new magic memories and me thing they put on the castle. I was blown away when I saw it. It looks like you pretty much missed it while you were jockeying for a spot.

yeah, I guess we did, from what I saw all it seemed like to me was a bunch of strangers pictures being flashed on the castle,,,,, I don't like looking at pictures of people that I know, much less strangers!:rotfl:

In the picture of you two on Buzz, the guns look like b**bies!

Glad you didn't have to get that other shot!

Thank you so much!
It wasn't until after I posted that picture that I said the same thing up here at the computer which made Smidgy run up the stairs. Especially the one right in front of her, but she didn't think so as much as I did so I wrote it off as just being me.
