Nebo, do you have any knowledge of the pirate themed rooms at CBR? Anyone? I am trying to look at a couple of options for a Star Wars weekend visit and DS has been wanting to stay in a pirate themed room. Any thoughts?

I've not stayed in one myself (my son was over the pirate phase by the time the rooms were done) but talked with a few people who were in them the last time I was at CBR. Most folks said the kids LOVED them but the adults all had the same two complaints - 1: the beds are on the smaller side and are uncomfortably firm, one lady said it felt like she was sleeping on a foam matress like in an old camper. and 2: the pirate rooms are all on the area of CBR that is farthest away from the market place/pool, etc.
Last time we were at CBR the rooms were fairly new so there was much chatter about them at the food court and pool. Hope this helps.

This is exactly the kind of honest feedback I was hoping to get. It sounds like I really need to think of other options because DH will probably kill me if the beds aren't very comfortable. Being so far away for the market place and pool isn't so great either.

There was a woman reader a few years ago, Javamom I believe, that joined us in Still Feeding Nebo, again, I think that's when it was, who asked me who my favorite Disney character was, and I told her Rafiki, she then made up the avatar for me.

"Mom" is correct.
All the pirate rooms are in Trinidad South, which is really far from the main Old Port Royale food court and pool, it's as bad as Barbados. But I'm not sure if ALL the rooms in Trinidad South are pirate rooms.
Buzz, have you figured out where you are staying before WL when you extended your trip?

That's what makes Disney so great.
All the totally different experiences when it comes to lodging there, 20 different resorts and every single one has it's own fan club, every one is somebody's favorite, and every year my favorite resort changes.
Even the section of resorts can be vastly different:
I really don't care for ASSports,,, but I LOVE the SURF"S UP section, and the main pool next to it, I'd stay there a lot if I was guaranteed that area.

So I went back to the beginning, If it's Tuesday......
Gotta say what fun it is watching your style and fan base develope. It was a little slow in the beginning but you sure got your groove on 1/2 way through. It's like traveling back in time, knowing what I know now but you didn't know then (does that make sense?) Anyway, keep em coming Nebo

Ack, Ack as Buzz almost literally chokes on the pollen that is as thick as snow in my neck of the woods. Seriously, it is THICK here in SC. I think I am going to scratch my eyeballs out! They are so itchy and watery. Anything and everything that can produce pollen is doing so simultaneously!

Are you guys in other parts of the country seeing this as well? I include you in the question as well Pkondz!

Oh Marita and cp'ersmom, that edit is too funny!! I really, really hate I wasn't on a little earlier.

Nebo, I added the days for the WL to avoid a split stay this time, but if an AP code doesn't come out, say in the amount of 30%, we won't be able to afford it and we will need to look at an alternative. I'm hoping the next round of AP dates will be out sometime within the next month or so. Currently they are out through June 14th. We have a bounceback WL reservation for most of the dates in August but we will have to see what happens. My crystal ball cracked from the cow and coppertone pictures of you so I am on the fence for now.

We may just stay at Pop for a Star Wars weekend. We will probably do a Thursday-Tuesday stay. We have not stayed at CSR before and there are some decent AP rates there, so it's between Pop and CSR I think. Any suggestions? Have any of you been to a Star Wars weekend?

Second. I've never (knock on wood) been bothered by pollen, but I haven't noticed any up here. It's been nice, but not long enough yet for pollen, I don't think.

Ponzi, I'm going to be up up in your neck of the woods again in August. Going to see DS promoted to Captain in the Air Force.

Except this time around, instead of going up to the Canadian border in Glacier National Park, we will probably head down to Yellowstone for a few days. (Yeah, not my idea of vacation, I am about the least athletic person you can imagine, or conversely, the perfect couch potato). So why do I even mention this?

1) Have to brag about DS (I know Smidgy will understand)
2) Not often anyone goes on vacation in your neck of the woods. And beautiful woods they are!

ETA: for those not familiar with Northwestern vacations" Hiking, fishing, rafting, AGGRRGH!
