P.F. Changs... Need some help. Updated with Dinner Report. Post #67

We like PF Changs too. The lettuce wraps...a must have in our opinion. And - the last time we were there - we had an appetizer that was deep fried green beans. OH MY GOSH - those were just scrumptious! Addicting too...just like potato chips.

I had an entree I didn't care for...and the staff bent over backwards to make sure I was happy. And - I will absolutely say - it wasn't their fault. Our waitress got a HUGE tip.

If you are getting appetizers, it is very sensible to order less entrees than the number of people you have in your party. The family style serving - is great for sharing!!!

We generally do not order alcoholic beverages when we are at PF Changs...so that helps to keep the bill a little more $$-friendly.

Also - you can call in advance to make reservations.

Yes, hot and sour soup...sorry, others had mentioned it above me so I thought you knew what I meant! It's a dark colored sorta thick soup with thin strips of tofu, shiitake mushrooms, usually chicken, bamboo shoots. I had never had it before my friend worked at a chinese place, and she brought me some when I was sick. I'd only really had wanton soup before, but now I always get hot and sour because it's my new favorite. Lots of flavor, and the one at P.F. Chang's is just right as far as consistency and flavor goes.

Mmmmmm P.F. Changs. I love that place. The lettuce wraps are REALLY good. The ribs (appetizer) are yummy too. My favorite meal, that I get EVERY TIME is the lemon scallops. OMG so good. But I've tasted stuff that my Dh and friends have gotten and Everything has been good.

Our dinner reservations are for 6pm. We are all pretty excited. Funny thing, everyone talks about the lettuce wraps that we may end up eating just those... I will defintely post after the dinner. Thanks for all the responses.

I'm allergic to MSG (it triggers migraines) and didn't have a problem when I ate there for the first time last month. I LOVED it!!!

Lettuce wraps, salt and pepper calamari, crab wontons, lo mein, mangolian beef, sesame chicken was all delish!!! There were 6 of us and we got a TON of food to share. Went to the one in Boston. I think we paid like $40 each. And that was including drinks.

We did have one dish I didn't care for. It was ground chicken with eggplant something. BLECH!

Besides that - it was great. I can't wait to go back!!!

I like the place, inexpensive, nice portions and good taste. I like the orange chicken.

Well we are back from dinner. It was very nice....

We were seated immediately and got a booth as requested. Our waiter was a real cutie, and kept singing Happy Bday to DD. He explained meal sizes as such.

So we ended up with: rasberry tea for me, coors light - DH, and pop for the kids.

We ordered the 4 course dinner for two with egg drop soup, lettuce wraps, spicy chicken, and orange chicken. Then onto the order we also added pepper steak and chicken fried rice.

We enjoyed everything. I least favorite though was the orange chicken and next time we would do the honey chicken as others have mentioned. We absolutely LOVED the lettuce wraps and the kids were making mental notes on coming back just for them for lunch during the holiday break. The dinner for two came with dessert shots and they gave DD one for her bday and the waiter snuck another in for me. One of the othere waiters had dropped the "fake" dessert tray earlier, and DH talked the waiter into drawing what the desserts would look like on his order book. He did, and we all had a great laugh. We chose apple, cheesecake, chocolate, and lemon. Very small and just so-so. We didn't come for dessert so this was okay...

When I walked in I purchases 2 $50.00 gift cards and received 2 $10.00 cards for use later on. Our bill came to $78.00 and I gave the waiter the balance of the gift cards as a tip. A large tip yes, but he really was a great waiter and it is Christmas time.

We would defintely go back, but probably would order another appetizer or even an entree. We brought home a small amount of the fried rice and that was all that was left. None of us felt stuffed or as if we overate. And defintely no MSG as my fingers are still the size they were before dinner...

It was a fun time. Thanks again for all your help.

So you bought the gift cards to get the promo free ones and then used them as your payment?? VERY smart thinking!!!!:woohoo:

ITA - I always want to do that when it's offered, but DH feels it's "cheating."
I've already resolved to take care of it when he's not looking, lol.

Glad the OP had a nice time.
