oy, time to look for a new doctor?

rumor has it my primary care physician is contemplating retirement.

oh, no, not again!

five years ago my doctor retired and sold his practice. the way I found out about it was, I was very sick with pnueumonia and called for an appointment. my doctor had cut back his hours to part time, and the new doctor was seeing most of the patients.

I dislike the new doctor. I am sure his medical care was appropriate, but his bedside manner...well, I hate being treated like a child. he sent me to the ER -- a nightmare in and of itself -- but never bothered to explain WHY he was sending me there.

I've been with my current doctor since then.

oy, am I going to have to start looking for a new doctor?

Afraid so.. Don't you just hate it?

I think that once we find a doctor that we are 100% confident in and comfortable with, Murphy's law usually kicks in and the doctor just goes "poof"..

I had to do the same thing last year after my insurance changed and my old Dr, who I really wasn't crazy about, didn't accept the new insurance.

My new Dr is awesome. He's pretty young (mid 30's), has a terrific bedside manner, and looks just like Jeff Corwin
he was DH's dr first and DH recommended him. The first time I saw Dr K I asked DH why he didn't tell me he was cute

Hopefully you'll find a great new Dr with a minimal amt of fuss. If you know any nurses at the hospital you use, ask them for advice. They'll know who is great and who is a p.i.t.a to deal with
