Anyone ever had oxygen delivered to their hotel? We won't need it in flight, but need it overnight so I was going to just have a concentrator delivered to our hotel. I don't think we will need tanks since if she needs it during the day we will just go back to the room and rest for awhile and if it is consistent I'll just call and get some delivered then. I don't anticipate it being an issue though. I called and Oxygen One can deliver it, just not sure if Disney will accept or will require me to be there for delivery. Oxygen One had no issues with our not being there to accept, especially with just a concentrator. On a side note. I hate disease progression and the fact it takes so much away from the fun part of planning a trip. On the other hand. I love that she still loves to go places and enjoys each and every moment. So, it's all good. Just a sad mommy moment I guess.

Your resort should be bale to accept it and keep it in bell services for you until you arrive. Just be sure to have the O2 company put your arrival date and reservation number on a tag with your name. Also, I would ask the company to get the name of the person they hand it off to so if there is an issue you have a better chance of getting it worked out.

Obviouosly it is JMHO, but with these kinds of medical things I would never ever rely on getting something delivered to anyone else but myself. I know, I know, time is precious and all. But health is even more precious. While luckily the odds aren't big, there always will be a chance that something happens in between the moment of delivery and bell service taking it and you wanting to pick it up resulting in not "simply being able to pick it up".

We've had stories on here before already, incl. about oxygen delivery where it took for ever to hunt it down after it was "misplaced". If one ever runs into such a situation, it gets from bad to worse when you have to rely on 2 different sources and having no clue yourself what in fact did happen and what not because you were not there yourself. When only accepting personal delivery at least you know a lot more details for sure, lot less risk of miscommunication because of the bigger amount of cast members and 2 different parties involved (supplying company and disney) and you being stuck in the middle with both pointing at eachother and you now needing to get something into place a.s.a.p.

Also discuss the flying. Great that there is no need other than overnight, but with any form of travel you can't control flying for 100% either. What happens in case of delays, rerouting and what not more that results in overnighting? Would it be not the greatest situation but no unacceptable healthproblem or would it result in possible serious risks? Always be prepared for those situations when something is medically a must. You will rather be prepared and not need it for many trips than not be prepared and run into problems on one trip.

I use oxygen at night and had it delivered to WL. No problem at all. It was waiting for me at bell services when I arrived. All I had to do was call the company I use at home with the address of the hotel at least two weeks in advance and they will have it delivered at no extra charge. Very simple.

We too travel with O2. DD was on high concentrations (6 lpm). She is now at 4 lpm. We use a POC on the plane, and have a O2 concentrater and 6 E cylinders delivered. We use Lincare. The service is excellent. When we arrive at the resort, it is there waiting for us. DD uses a wheelchair with a O2 holder on the back. It's not too portable, but works for us. When we get down to 4 cylinders, we call and they bring 4 full ones and exchange them. When we go to WDW we stay about 3 weeks, so we go through a lot of O2. Our service provider doesn't have service in the Orlando area, so we had to get the prescription sent to Lincare, and they have been most helpful. When I planned our first trip with O2, the logistics were overwhelming. I was extremely stressed with our circumstances, but I had to get DD to her happy place. We have since taken 4 more trips and it gets more comfortable with every trip. Now, it is no more stressful than booking a flight. You and yours will have a great time.

As a side note, perhaps you could consider taking a cylinder with you and leaving it a first aid station in case you need it. Then you could take a rest at first aid and have more time at the parks.

Can I ask what kind of portable unit POC do you use? My mom is on 4 continuous and we can't find a POC that uses that high of a concentration.

When I said DD was on 4 lpm, I should have added it was intermittant flow. It is continuous flow only at night, so that's why we use a regular concentrator in the room. During the day, she breathes deep enough to use a regulator on pulse flow. We use a Sequal Eclipse. It will go up to 6 lpm pulse flow.
