Owning 2 contracts at different resorts

I have a contract at BLT for 375 with a Dec use year. My sister had a contract at BWV for 150 with a Feb use year.

I would love to just use all these points at BLT but yet very confused with how they can be used and how they can’t be used.

Essentially I won’t be able to use the 150 BWV at BLT unless it’s 7 months out. What it if I schedule a vacation 11 months out at BLT with my BLT points. Will Disney allow me to add the 150 to the 375 or no?

Just curious with holidays such as Xmas and Halloween…. Is it hard to get rooms only 7 months out?

The points can only be used at 7 months to add to whatever nights you booked at BLT with your own points. Points can never book another home resort during home resort priority.

Since they are a different membership, they’d need to first be transferred to you before you can even do that.

Certain times getting BLT will be tough at 7 months

You can book whatever days you can/want with your points at 11 months, then your sister can book whatever is available at 7 months. (or waitlist)

I would have you each book your home resort at 11m (or consider walking to do it a bit earlier) and then have her waitlist BLT @7m with her BWV points. Worst case is you get an amazing split stay.

If you prefer to have the simplicity of a single reservation number, then the best thing would be to transfer your sister's BWV points to your membership.

Then, subject to room availability, you can use your BLT points to your advantage by modifying your stay at the 7mo mark to include the BWV points. Essentially it's kinda like 7mo walking, except it's more like just being just a half step ahead.

Note that when you do this, all contracts (both the BLT and the BWV) will be locked if you try to make further modifications.

If you book BLT at 11 months, you can add more nights at 7 months using BWV.

The 7 months window would start from the date of check-in, so if you add the extra nights on the back end of an existing reservation you actually get a few days head start over the 7 month window, which can sometimes help.

1BR Lake View is probably your best shot at 7 months during the December holidays.

You have many different options.

Are you only interested in booking BLT with both sets of points?

A common way to use 2 different home resorts is by alternating. With bank/borrow you could double up at one resort to use this year, and double up the other resort to use year/trip. There are many ways to make this work.

I was trying to use both points at BLT for the most part. We have a super large family and everyone wants to be together and walking distance to magic kingdom.

I was hoping to be able to just use those extra points to “add on” and get more rooms but scared there won’t be availability

I always grab a 2 bedroom and a deluxe studio for the grand parents with my current 375 BLT contract.

If I got my sister to sell her contract to me, I would want to use the extra 150 BWV points to book an additional 1 deluxe studio room for In Laws or take the 1 bedroom deluxe studio I always book and upgrade it to 2 diffeeeent 2 bedroom villas for everyone.

Does that make sense?

Does your sister want/need to sell her contract or are you just talking about a one off trip you want to plan using her points?
If your goal is to have the ability to regularly book more/larger villas at BLT going forward, then rather than buying your sister’s BWV points which are in a different use year, you’d be better off just buying another BLT contract in your use year .

You should be able to get something at 7 months, it might just be lake view 1bdrm or whatever is available, but something should be available.
