Owners Lockers??

A lot ;) It's quite heavy when full and includes an electric kettle, ponchos, umbrella, full size toiletries, bath gel, holiday clothing, swimwear, sandals and Crocs (my luggage has gone missing 3 times in the past 8 years, although we have always been reunited, so it's nice to know I won't be stuck!).

DH is a strong guy and would never pay for this luxury as he's happy to lug our cases around (he's a lot like wayneg in his approach to money - just because you can afford something doesn't make it good value ;)). However, I take one trip a year with a friend and so it's especially valuable to me. I love having it.

I have no idea what you mean:rotfl:

I actually had the same business idea as Owners lockers, about a year before they started, I told DW about the idea but also said I didn't think people would pay for it, guess I was wrong.

My first anniversary payment was in April and was $99. This includes 2 visits per year for 3 years (I think!). Not sure if the offer is the same now. I think there is a one-off joining fee in addition to the annual fee, to pay for the (very sturdy) purple locker.

Wayne, I think a couple of things have helped Owner's Locker, firstly they are obviously nice people who are providing a great service (tons of great testimonials on the US DVC boards whenever it comes up) and secondly the low-cost carriers in the US have gone the same way as ours with charging for hold baggage, and, as you noted in another thread, being stricter on weight limits. Let's just say that DH still does not share my enthusiasm for the service but is happy that I'm happy ....... or so he says ;)

I must admit I was a bit sceptical at first, but now I love it and wouldn't be without it. Mine is full now.

We've had one for a while and it's brilliant :thumbsup2 we're going to Florida for 5 weeks this year and only taking hand luggage as most of the stuff is already over there in our locker. We're actually thinking of getting a second one.

Have a look at the Owners Locker website. There's a risk free trial and if you do sign up there is a drop down menu to say where you heard about it which will give you a discount off the joining fee.

The OL sounds great, but you only if go to WDW and nowhere else on holiday. I did seriously consider it but most of the stuff we would keep in there we would need for other holidays as well.

Claire ;)

We have had ours a few years now and it is great.
Some of the things in it are
hair straighteners , shaver both US versions
US travel adaptors
Water park drink cups
first aid box
Loads of room in them but these items kept traveling back and fro when only needed over their.

LOL, well this certainly isn't me then .... I'm always going to other places ... (Germany in July, Italy in September, Arizona and nearby states in September!) but there are things I only use in Florida that makes having the locker worthwhile for me. Pink Crocs for instance :o and ponchos. Oh, and I manage without my kettle on other trips ;)

There is an argument that says it's cheaper to buy some of the stuff and throw it at the end of the holiday than pay for OL and that's probably true. But, I don't find time spent in Wal-Mart to be life-enhancing (although yes, I am likely to make a quick visit during the course of a holiday I admit). Plus I value the convenience of having your things already there and, I hate to throw good stuff away!

I suppose if the $/£ rate were to be really poor, I'd reconsider, but at the moment, I'm happy to know that some (quite heavy) stuff is already waiting for me.

The kettle is something I had thought about, buying a US one and keeping it in an OL, but there is not alot else we would use just for Florida and the yearly fee didn't justify a few items.

Claire ;)

Anyone have one?? If so, what do you keep in it??:thumbsup2

We are in our 2nd year of owning a purple box with Owners Locker. We keep to many items to list on here as it is crammed full and extremely heavy. We stay at Disney every year and love the convenience of each of us having a slightly less heavy suitcase to travel with and the convenience of the purple box with all our items delivered to our room on arrival.
The website and forum will give you a broad idea of what people keep in their boxes.
They also do the free trial with your money guaranteed to be returned at the end of the year if you are not happy.

thanks everyone!!:thumbsup2

I am wondering whether we might wait until we are actually over there next year, and then we can really see what things we could do with in our DVC, and whether for us it would be worth paying to store things in an OL.:)

Perhaps I could even take their info with me and ring them to bring one over before we go home if we decide its a good option for us???:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
