Owner's Locker EPCOT wine evenings--May 13, 2008

For the last couple of weeks, we have been inviting Owner's Locker Members who happen to be in Orlando to join us for a free glass of wine at the kiosk outside France in EPCOT before Illuminations. We have really enjoyed meeting our Members this way. There are some photos on the OL forums from our EPCOT wine evenings:

Brian and I thought we'd invite any DIS Board Members who'd like to meet us or some Owner's Locker Members to join us as well. We'll be at the wine kiosk in France from 7:30 until Illuminations starts on Tuesday May 13.

If you're at EPCOT, stop by and join us.

We're just playing around with the concept but so far we really like it. As a web-based business, it's rare that we actually see our Members and this is a great way for us to stay close to the business, meet some nice people and learn new things that we can do to make people's vacations more convenient. It's also not bad hanging around EPCOT with a glass of wine. Not exactly tough duty!!

My husband loves doing the wine thing in France. Works for me since I like the pastry place.

I wish we were going to be in France on Tuesday.

Looking forward to our first use of our locker later this month.

BTW, I liked the cute email I received from my locker yesterday. I have big plans for filling that puppy this trip. I have so many things listed online that I PLAN to leave there that I think I am foreseeing a need for locker #2.

How many of your customers do multiples, especially now with the airlines charging for more than one bag?

Thanks for the kind words about the e-mails. We have fun with those. My wife told me I was crazy when I told her that I wanted people to get e-mails from their Locker...

We always tell people to start with one Locker and see how it works. The comment we get most often is that the Locker is larger than expected. If you do need a second Locker, we can get one to you pronto. Brian and I have both raced over to a resort parking lot on more than one occasion when Members' found that they needed more space on the way to the airport.

When we were planning Owner's Locker, we certainly had no idea that the TSA would restrict liquids or that the airlines would get silly over luggage. It just makes us more and more cost effective.

We've certainly noticed that the Lockers are getting heavier with all of the liquid items and we do have a number of Members who have more than one Locker. The record is six, by the way!

We're sort of playing it by ear. May 13 will be the third week we've tried this. We'll see how this goes. I certainly have no problem in having lots of Owner's Locker EPCOT wine evenings!!

We went to the Owners Locker wine meet early May and it was such a pleasure to see some old DVC buddies and meet some new ones too. Didn't get to meet Brian but it was wonderful to see John..he really is such a gentleman! Thanks John!

John I think that is so sweet to be doing a wine meet for members! I can only hope the trend continues as we would love to meet you and Brian when we are next in Disney (and for our first OL use). I'm toasting you guys here at my computer that you will have many years of flourishing business!

We are just back from the OL WineFest. It was good to see John and Brian again. There were about 15 there it appeared and OL was most generous with the refreshments. There were several DIS members at the event.

It was a nice evening with a delightful breeze coming off the lake.
