OWN.. Oprah Winfrey Network

I'll miss Discovery Health, too - they better find another outlet for my giant tumor shows!!!

The show I like best so far is Master Class - I've watched the episode with Jay Z and the one with Diane Sawyer. A really excellent show both times - so nice to just hear the person talk and see clips of their lives without an interviewer - even Oprah, who I think is a great interviewer - up in their face. I loved the Diane Sawyer show tonight.

I'm looking forward to Gayle King's show too - I like her. And I like Peter Walsh, too - any show that has hoarders or hoarders lite is for me!

We were watching it yesterday afternoon & last night some. I also liked the show I'm searching for. I did like some shows on Discovery Health and was disappointed, but they seem to be on other channels now anyway. So far though I don't see anything I don't like. I never really watched her talk show, but I do admire her. I usually watch channels like this anyways, so this is fine with me.

I hate it because it took the place of the Discovery Channel

Wow, I am surprised at the number of people that aren't willing to try something new. Oprah didn't take over Discovery, Discovery came to her.

Yes, Oprah partly owns the network, but it's not a network of Oprah shows. I loved Master Class and can't wait for Lisa Ling's show where she travels across American and talks to people.

I have been watching it here and there. I think it will be a channel I turn to when I can't find something to watch on TV. I'm actually impressed so far.

I doubt I'll watch it. I don't really care for her. I would have preferred to have kept Discovery Health. Couldn't they ahve given her one of the music or sports channels instead?

I know, right? Do you know how many freakin' sports channels I have on Dish Network? And I don't watch a SINGLE ONE!! You know how it goes, you want ONE channel but it's bundled with 50 other channels that you don't want and will never watch. :headache:

I can watch Oprah, but a whole network with her type of stuff is a little much for me. I went looking for some of my favorites and found them on FIT. I read that Deliver Me and Mystery Diagnosis will be staying to air on OWN. I don't fault Oprah for taking the channel over, but it would have been nice if they had advertised where the DHC shows were going.

I wanted to check it out, but it's not on our cable "level". We would have to upgrade.

People need to look past the "Oprah factor" about this channel. Other than the Season 25 Behind the Scenes show, Oprah is not on any of the other shows. Miracle Detectives, Enough Already!, and Master Class are series recordings already for me and the network has only been on for 3 days.

I won't be watching it. I LOVED discovery health, but lost any shred of respect i had left for Oprah long ago. I think it was at the point at which she allowed Jenny McCarthy to come on and say that vaccines cause autism and it can be cured through diet. I have an autistic nephew and am deeply offended by people who spew that kind of junk science and give parnets of autistic children either an heavy dose of guilt becuase they think they did something to cause what looks by all evidence to be a genetic disease, or give them false hope in some cure-all snake oil treatment. She has done this more than once with different disorders, for profit.

I'm already not a big fan of Oprah and when I saw that its mostly a few health shows and either Oprah or her "chosen people", I passed. I'm not a fan of Dr. Phil nor am I fan of Dr. Oz. I'm really not a fan of finding a guru and passing the guru onto an ignorant, adoring public. I think its irresponsible.

Oh, and some 2 and a half or 3 star movies mixed in.
And yes, I can look past my dislike of Oprah to see that this channel doesn't really offer much to those who aren't into the whole Oprah experience.

I'm not a big Oprah (or Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil) fan, but I thought a couple of the shows looked interesting.

I was watching a couple of her behind-the-scenes shows, and it struck me that her employees seem scared of her.

I've been watching OWN late at night. Some good shows so far, I think I'm going to like it. :goodvibes

I was happy to see a rerun of Trading Spaces on OWN this afternoon. I didn't realize how much I miss that show!

Not a fan of OWN. I want my truama:life in the ER back right where it should be, on during the late nights to I can watch it as I go to sleep. Right now I've got school when it comes on. :headache: The rest of the shows are boring.

I noticed this too with some of her employees. Especially that producer in charge of the shoot in West Virginia.

I'm gone into Dr.G Medical Examiner withdrawl (has the show moved?).

DR G medical examiner and mystery diagnosis will both come back to own I think i recall seeing on jan 6th. If i had to tell the truth though i was hoping that oprah would just simply go away. I didn't like her show. I think she knows a little about everything and a whole lot about nothing.

From what I have read, Dr. G is not one of the DHC shows slated to come back on OWN. I read Deliver Me and Mystery Diagnosis would. Right now, some Dr. G stuff is being shown on FITTV and I read it may move to TLC. I really think more coverage should have been given to show where shows were going.
