What is the safest, cleanest, resort for me (mom) and my 5yo daughter? We may have another mom and her daughter along with us - not in the same room. We want convenient with plenty to do when we're not at the parks....considering Polynesian and Boardwalk Inn, but am open to other suggestions.

TIA for any advice!

Given the age of your daughter, I'd go with the Polynesian and it's close proximity to the MK and the monorail. It is a beautiful resort that you will both (or all 4) love for sure.

All of the Disney resorts are safe and clean IMHO. If you are looking for a Deluxe with lots to do and convenience also look into the Beach Club and the Yacht Club resorts. They are a walk away from the Boardwalk, are within walking distance or a short boat ride away from Epcot and DHS, and have Stormalong Bay pool area which is basically like a water park. The Beach Club also has movies on the beach at night and a wonderful character meal breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the resort. (At least they did last time I stayed there) :goodvibes
Although the Poly is very nice, I just love the Epcot area resorts.

That part of your quote is key with me. Plenty of non-park things to do equals Beach Club to my family. My kids LOVE the sandy-bottom pool and mounds of sand to play in. They will play in it for hours each day. We've tried many disney resorts, and this is the only pool that we have a hard time prying them away from. Also, there is the boardwalk to enjoy, surrey bike rental with a lovely ride around the water, campfires at night, movies on the beach at night, you can walk to 2 parks, lots of restaurants within walking distance, Espn Club, watch Illuminations fireworks without entering Epcot, walk to mini golf, Beaches & Cream for ice cream treats.....etc. There is a LOT to do in the Epcot resort area. It's never boring whereas we've felt slightly bored in other resorts when nighttime hits and we are done at the parks. At the BC, the fun continues on for as long as we want it to.

I really LOVE the Poly! I find it convenient for both MK via boat or monorail and to Epcot via the direct monorail at TTC. I really like being able to escape MK after Wishes on the boat.

All that being said if I was looking for a resort with lots to do I might consider AKL. I really enjoyed it there too and there a a ton of activities for the kids to do there. It is also less expensive since both you and your friend will each be getting your own room. I found the bus service at AKL to be very good!

In your other thread you are considering GF, BC or the Poly- what happened?:confused3:confused3

Hi lustergirl,

I ended up going with a CL room at the GF. I feel like it will be reasonably safe, definitely convenient and a good way for me to get the 'lay of the land' for our next trip.
