Been to DLRP last May with DH and DD now 3. Not DH's cup of tea...

I'd rather go alone with my DD than have him along grumpy

I've got a good price (40% off/kids free) for 2 nights at the end of April at the Cheyenne where we stayed before

Disney site is a nightmare keeps freezing etc but each way I try it says no eurostar transport available. Can i ring up and book it with transport - will they still do the 40% off web only thing...

Eurostar's own site has availability £59 for me. So if i book direct with them I then have to pay £15 to disney to use the express service right but free if i book the transport with them?

Advantage of booking seperate is that i can use my tesco vouchers though?? decisions decisions

Also DD is 3 and free on eurostar on my lap. Are they likely to let us move so she can sit in a seat if one is free(never been on eurostar) If not is it worth shelling out another £44 for a seat for her hmmm? I just think £44 could go towards a princess meal etc..

Sorry for all the questions - if a pro at this has time could you just let me know if i am on the right lines.

Thanks

Got an email here from DLP that says from 3rd April to 8th Nov, kids under 7 stay, play and travel free with Eurostar, I wonder if you would be able to get a seat for her through the offer. I'd ring and get a quote from them you will be able to combine with the 40% book before 15th April, and get the Disney Express will be included.:)
I had problems with the website today, I think a few others have too.
Hope you're able to book your trip, I left my Grumpy at home twice in 2007, but he's coming with us this time and looking forward to it.

Oh i'd not seen that - that would definitely tip the balance to booking it all through disney if she got a free seat. Thanks for that.

Your risking it a bit asking those on here if you should gain a seat illegally!!!!! only joking I say go for it and not book her one but there again I am a rebel lol

Also I noticed that when I tried to add transport it was saying that my package was unavailable, so then I changed to train times to the times that match on eurostar ie 10am going and 19pm coming home and it went through to the next part of the booking - just a tip anyway. Good luck on your planning x

In my experience with Eurostar: I would think you'ld be fine as long as the Trains pretty quiet that day and the seat by you is free or anywhere else in the carriage is empty

Also if your getting Tesco clubcard vouchers be sure to get them soon as the clubcard deal is being discontinued in April (the vouchers themselves have to be used by May)

I'ld say calling Disney might be better for this seeing as you have a special request or go thru a travel agent

A bit confused :confused3 (doesn't take much :rotfl: ) - currently Tesco only offer Eurotunnel on their Clubcard deals, not Eurostar...is it the Eurotunnel offer that is ending in April?

hi i assumed i could use tesco for eurostar may be be totally wrong though. Will check...

Don't mean to be controversial with the seats. She is only 3 and can legally travel free in a lap. Just thought I would ask a guard? if we could move if there were free seats - wouldn't just assume. Travelling on a mon and wed so hoping it wont be packed (not school hols)

Never been on eurostar so just after a bit of advice.

When we flew to florida when she was under 2 I caved in after lots of comments and paid for a seat for her, over £350 (it was about £20 to go on my lap) well we got on the Virgin plane and there were lots of seats free and they announced please feel free to move where you like after take off - same on the way back we had 6 seats to the 3 of us..so £350 wasted although we did get a full extra luggage allowance an infant didn't.

Have checked and it is euro tunnel only not eurostar with tesco deal vouchers

Still can't get it to give me a price with transport(thanks fo r the times tip - tried but still didn't work) will ring them tomorrow night after work

Ok, I booked the Hotel Cheyenne SEPERATELY from Eurostar in July. I've saved nearly £400!

The 40% offer is only for your stay and tickets - not the train and you will find a huge difference in the price booking seperately. My travel agent phoned Disney direct and added on the Disney Express for £15 per adult (kids free)

Regarding your child seat on Eurostar, yes you do get free travel were she to sit on your lap but to be honest if she were to sit on an unoccupied seat it's ok for her to do so. We have done this plenty of times. Seeing as you are going when it will not be busy I'm pretty sure there will be two seats for you to sit together.

I would suggest you don't book until you've been to your travel agent. the price for our acommodation was £583 - for 2 adults and one child transport/DE included Disney were going to charge us £1,128. (for 4n/5d)

Seperately we booked acommodation/park tickets in the 40% off offer then got our train for....£195. Total £768...go figure!! If you add to that DE, we saved a HUGE amount and have now booked charactor meals and BB!

So if you know what you want go to your agent and tell them, they bend over backwards in this recession to help :-)

Thing is I have never used a travel agent! Last trip we booked 3 nights at cheyenne with DLRP direct and ferry seperately, DH drove. All other hols have been to various parts of the states and i've booked scheduled flights myself done my own itiniery etc. Booking USA i'm fine this is a whole new world. TBH travel agents scare me a bit!

Will see what DLRP quote for eurostar. If it is more than eurostar want i.e £59plus the £15 express fee, i'll book it direct with eurostar.

Don't think she will qualify for a seat on eurostar with disneys under 7's travel free as the small print says age 4-6 in brackets, but i will ask.

sorry to be thick what does BB stand for? Is it bibbidi bobbidi boutique (where they do girls hair and nails) like they have at WDW? that was going to be one of my next questions do they have it at DLRP?

Sh sorry hunnie, Buffalo Bills! Wish they did have BIP BOP BO (as my daughter calls it!)

It'll definately be more, which stinks :-( I think they use the top end of the price bracket when booking - you could upgrade and go leisure class for less then a complete package. Now there's a thought!!

we are going to DLP in a few weeks & havent booked our 2 1/2 yr old son a seperate seat, i reckon he will want to sit on one of our laps anyway.
when i rand Disney they said they only had a certain amount of Eurostar seats allocated & every date i chose they had none.
in the end i booked seperatly & probably saved a few quid!

Foxymum - there will probably be enough room on your two seats as this is where my son would sit when he was small - right in between us and it was still comfortable! My daughter is going on eurostar for the first time (we've normally driven with two car loads) and as she'll be just five we'll be paying, but I bet she'll squeeze in with us lol!
