Overwhelmed by so many choices...help!

So I'm just starting to look into staying offsite for April 2015...so many choices, how do I decide? We are a family of 5 and my kids ages will be 11, 9, & 7. All three kiddos love to swim so a private pool would be awesome, but so would a resort pool with slides.

If we decide to rent a house with a pool, does anyone have any recommendations? I've looked on VRBO, but I'm not familiar enough with the areas to know which ones are ideal.

I make a list with each resort / hotel / condo that I like with the price and the pluses and minuses. Then I figure what we plan to do parks , beaches, shopping etc and use the list to see which is the best fit. Make sure you save the list for future vacation choosing.

You will really enjoy staying away from the" Disney hustle & Bustle " by staying in a private villa.

All the Villa areas are within a 15 mile drive from Disney Arch.

Davenport is really an overall postal code area from the place named

Davenport . as is Kissimmee .

To find a villa .... Look along Hwy 192 going West towards Hwy 27.
There are places like Lindfields , Sunset Lakes , etc

Then North on Hwy 27.. Glenbrook ... Orange Tree etc

Or Hwy 27 South Leagasy Park. Highlands Reserve, & Hampton Lakes.

There are many more Communities all around this area.


All that I have mentioned have their own pools & more & ALL

are within 2 to 3 miles ( Less in some places ) from Supermarkets

And A Huge verity of Eating out places ... well catering for children & Adults are rates of between $ 10 to $ 30 per person

The closest pool homes to Disney are in the Formosa Gardens area on west 192: Windsor Hills, Rolling Hills, Indian Creek, Windsor Palms, Formosa Gardens Estates, Acadia Estates, Oak Island, Emerald Island, Sunset Lakes. Reunion Resort is south of this area by a few miles. Also along route 27 in Clermont and Davenport and in the Champions Gate area there are lots of subdivisions. Another area is on Poinciana Blvd south of 192.
This map will give you an idea of where everything is. Windsor Hills is #1 and the blue markers to the left are those in the Formosa Gardens area. Those on 27 are to the left of this area running north and south and the Champions Gate area is to the south where #89 and #2 are. Terra Verde #62 is on Poinciana along with some others. Disney has pink markers. The red markers are a few of the restaurants in the area.

If you opt not for a pool home, but want a condo in a nice resort, Oakwater is even closer than Windsor Hills (but admittedly, only by 1/2 mile or so )

Research early is fine, but I would worry about booking too early and/or watch your cancellation period. While I can't speak to April 2015, right now they are doing major road construction (widening) on 192 west of 429 until you reach Highway 27. This makes the traffic on this stretch of road HORRENDOUS at certain times of day. We were there a few weeks ago, and were going to the Lowes on 27 and what is normally about 15 minutes took us AN HOUR! Of course it was later in the day and had started raining, so we were caught in the mass exodus from the parks.

There is always construction in Central Florida. Except for anywhere except the closest properties, (and probably for them, too) it's always worthwhile to ask about current traffic conditions.

And when you get ready to go, ask on the disboards about traffic. It might be too late to cancel, but at least you might get some advice for back roads and alternate routes.

Yeah, I'm thinking I wouldn't be booking anything until fall (that's when I will have a better idea of finances).
