We're driving back from WDW and with 4 kids we're just not doing the commando drive up north this time. Anyone have any suggestions for a good halfway point on the coast? We're looking to probably spend one night but if it's nice we might stay longer. HH just doesn't seem far enough north - still too far to drive in one shot.

How's Myrtle Beach? or the Outer Banks?

We'll be heading home 9/3 ( I know- Labor Day weekend) but don't need to actually be home until Tuesday so we've got some time to play around with.

(ps. kids are 2,4,6 & 9)

We looked into flying because of SW's cheap fares but the minivan rentals are just way too expensive.
Thanks!:wave2:

Are you planning on driving I-95? The Outer Banks are great, but quite some distance from the interstate. Myrtle Beach is some distance also. Myrtle Beach weekends have a tendency to book up quickly now. MB has a ton of things to do--amusement parks, shopping, nightly shows, mini-gof, museums, etc. in addition to the beach. The outer banks are much more laid-back and less commercial.
