Overnight RV Parking (not camping)

We are going to Disneyland the first week of December and are driving down in a motorhome because it is less expensive than airfare for 8 people. We will be at Disneyland for 5 days and we need a place to park the RV while we are there. We will not be staying in the RV so I am not looking for camping, just someplace close-ish to park the RV for five days while we enjoy the park and stay in a hotel. We are planning to stay at the Desert Inn & Suites and they don't have room to park the motor home. Any suggestions?
Side note: has anyone stayed in the Desert Inn & Suites? Is it a decent place to stay?
Thanks in advance for your help!

The DI&S is where we stay. Their room set-ups are great for large and small groups. We have never experienced a problem. It's clean and the beds are very comfortable. Booking early provides the best rate of any places I have checked on Harbor.

Have you looked at the rates for flying on JetBlue. Depending on the days you travel, you might find the cost to be affordable. When I looked at days and flights from PDX to LGB, I found a round-trip ticket for $154 and another for $174/person. Depending on your days of travel, it might be an option.

Were almost neighbors, I'm right off I-5 near Wilsonville. We also travel by motorhome at various times of the year. MH Fuel costs from Newberg to Anaheim is going to be a chunk of change. Plus you have the weather through the Siskiyou's and Northern California to content with in December. We have driven it many times over the years and it can be a challenge.

You're going to have a blast with a group of eight!! Check out the air fares and see if they're a possibility. With the cost of fuel, parking and food for 8 while on the road, you may find a way to fly.

Good luck neighbor and WELCOME to the DisBoard!!

Contact the local RV storage places and see if they have short term spots. Also, have you checked the rates for the local RV parks? Maybe they have a parking or storage rate.

When we stayed at the Courtyard on Harbor last year, there were a couple of pickups with trailers that took up 4 to 5 spaces each. I'm not sure if they were authorized to take up that many spaces or not. I found it hard to park, especially since the only space left was right under one of the trailers.

There might be some storage places in the area, but I'm not sure if they would have daily or weekly rates.

Thanks for your help, Geemo! I am still pretty set on driving down because there are some stops we want to make on the trip but I appreciate the feedback about the hotel! When you took the RV down there did you stay in it or did you find a place to park it while you stayed at a hotel?
We called the local RV parks and their rates to just park the RV were over $40/night!
I'm really hoping someone has done this before and can recommend an inexpensive place to park the RV. It doesn't have to be right next to Disneyland, just in Anaheim somewhere so my husband can park it and then take a bus or taxi back to our hotel. It's not a huge rig, just a 30' class C RV.
Thanks everyone!

Anaheim RV Village is close and I would ask if they had a place you could just park the rig. Might be a small fee. Also, check with the convention center.

We've never taken the RV to Disneyland. We have a Suburban with plenty of room and drive straight through. We have seen RV's in the DLR hotel parking lots.

Good luck finding a parking location for the RV.

I use airport parking lots all the time for work trucks all over the country. Usually the cheapest and most secure.

Main Street parking lot at SNA airport can take oversized vehicles. $14/day

Not that you are, but if you stay on site they will park ya either behind the DL Hotel or Mickey and Friends with a permit in an oversized vehicle.

I second the suggestion to look at all options, including flying, to compare costs. Another option -- If you're truly looking at $40/day, you may be better off just renting a minivan in OR for your trip. You'd save a ton in gas, too.
