We are driving to Orlando for our trip. We were thinking about stopping in Valdosta, GA (or somewhere near there off I-75) to spend the night. Does anyone have any recommendations for a CHEAP hotel in or around that area? Cleanliness and safety are a must!

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites at Valdosta. We used the friends and family rate code of "Carlsonf" and secured a rate of $70 for a suite. Anyone is free to use this rate as we have used it several times across the country. It was great. We also love the newer Comfort Inn and Suites at the Tifton exit. Still smells new there!

We also stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in Valdosta. It was very clean, and a great hotel. The free breakfast was also rather good considering it was free. I think we paid close to $100 but we didn't book ahead of time online because we weren't sure how far we would actually make it. (It was out first time driving down and at the time we had 3 kids) This hotel was out top choice if we made it that far, and I am glad we did. Plus there is nothing better than waking up, and after only a short drive you are at the Florida welcome center :goodvibes

The past couple of years when my family and I stayed in Valdosta we went to the Hampton Inn & Suites of exit 16.

However next month we are staying at the Courtyard By Marriott off exit 18 because we happen to have enough Marriott reward points for a free night stay.

We are staying in Macon at the Holdiay Inn Macon North. Looks great and got a great price. It is about 2 hours north of Valdosta.

We are in the same dilemma-we really don't know where we will be Friday evening during the drive, but it looks to be some destance between nice hotels along I75 though the southern 1/2 of Georgia. I'll keep the Tifton option on the table, that looks to be the southern end of the range for the overnight stay.

We love the Tifton exit too, the Comfort Inn and Suites there is new and fabulous but most importantly, that exit (#62 if interested) also has a Starbucks which is an awesome way to get back on the highway for the "home stretch" to Disney!

:) If you make it as far as Lake City, there are the typical hotel chains and all seem to be nice. I know for sure there is a Hampton Inn. This is where DH and I stop for the night when we drive. But the PP sound like they have the best info.
