Overlapping dining plans...will it be confusing? (Split stays and different dining plans)

We are taking the family on a December trip and will be doing a split stay. We are doing the deluxe plan the first three night, then the regular DP the last three nights. I want to use 1 TS credit on the night we check into our second hotel. The next day (day two of our second stay), we will start using the credits for the regular DP.

Has anyone done this, and if so, did you encounter any problems using the last dining credit after you checked into the next hotel (therefore activating the second plan)?

It's suppose to "just work" like you describe. If possible, use the last of of your deluxe credits before you check into your second reservation just to be sure.

You may have to plan to inform your server that you have two dining accounts and make sure they know which one you need to have them subtract the credit from.

thanks everyone. i actually called disney dining and they gave me the same advice to just tell the server which credit to use. Thanks so much!!

I stayed at 2 resorts, and had 2 separate dining plans. On check-out/check-in day, the second resort CM helping me check-in printed out a report of my first resort's dining plan credits used/unused. She told me the first resort's dining credits would be accessed first before the second resort's credits. Only thing you couldn't do was use a leftover TS credit from first stay together with a TS credit from second stay to pay for a 2 TS meal on that transitional check-out/check-in day. If your second resort doesn't automatically offer a print-out of your first resort's dining credit status, just ask for one.

We had problems with the dining credits on the check-in/check-out. We had 6 CS meals left from the first stay that HAD to be used before we could use the TS on the second half of the stay. It was confusing for everyone involved. YMMV.
