So after about 3 weeks of stalking I was able to get fast passes for all but one person in my 7 person party for Sept 14. I was able to get 3 for 12:20-1:20 and 3 for 1:20-2:20. My question is this, I literally have a minute of overlap...I know they might let you in 5 minutes early and 10 minutes late...but they also might not. How do the fastpass lines work exactly? Can the three with the 12:20-1:20 fast passes go in at 1:15 and wait for the other three for a couple of minutes? (Obviously letting other people pass them) I'd like to get some more experienced people's thoughts.

show up at 1:15 and you will all get in tell cast member what your doing if you want the worse that could happen is they dont let you in for 5 minutes

The system is set to allow entry 5 minutes early and 15 minutes late. There's no CM discretion involved...it's inherent in the system Have everyone make their way to A&E at 1:20 and you'll be fine. We've arrived at both TOT and POTC "late" but within that 15 minute window (at POTC, the CM told us that we had "37 seconds left!") and in both cases Mickey turned green without the CM doing anything. Also, I've screwed up my FP+ times before, where I tried to get into Peter Pan about 30 minutes early. When the CM saw that we had FP+s coming up shortly, he overrode the system and let us through, even though I was totally willing to wait and we were preparing to back out of the queue when we got the blue Mickey. I know there are reports on here of CMs denying entry until the very minute Mickey turns green (5 minutes before the FP+ window opens) but I think those cases are few and far between and I think most CMs are nicer than that, as long as you actually have a FP+ for the attraction coming up shortly. I have seen lots of CMs denying entry into rides, but in each case, it was always guests trying to get into a different ride than what they had a FP+ for.

We moved our FP time for Kali to as soon as possible after we used our EE because we were doing to leave after Kali. We arrived early for the FP (I think it was about 10 minutes) and we were refused entrance. We decided to walk along one of the paths, see the tiger, and then we headed back with no problem. She was not letting us on early no matter what (which was fine, I am not complaining just sharing our experience) and gave us a bit of a look when she saw us return but we were well within our window by then and had no trouble.

I would all just plan to enter at 1:15ish.

If something happens, the early FP folks can just wait for the others once scanning their bands for FP. Had to do this in June because we had about 10 minutes in between our FPs. The early ones just let other people pass them until we came in.

Right, but that would be because you were more than 5 minutes early, right? The early window is 5 minutes.

Did that change this year? Last december if you were 1 second early/late it would go red and up to the CM to let you in or not. It was packed, they made everyone wait.

Right. I was just replying to jtown...seems we did get a CM who was not nicer than that. Again, not complaining as we knew we were early just figured it was worth a shot if they let us, there was no way no how she was letting us and that was fine.

Thanks for the replies. It makes me feel a little better about the times being not so ideal. We'll just be there at 1:15 and if we have to wait once we get inside we'll do that.
