We are going to WDW in October. I don't want to tote around our diaper bag so I'm looking for something that will fit the essentials, but also that my DH will not mind wearing.

Our DD will be 17-months when we go, so she'll still be in diapers.

Which would you suggest and why?

These bags are becoming almost as infamous as Crocs are on the Disboards! :rotfl:

We have a baggalini and we love it. It allows for a few diapers, travel wipes, change of clothes for DN, sipper cup, keys, cash, phone, passes, snacks, etc. I also like the zipper compartment on the strap itself-quick and easy access to passes or money/credit cards. Both seem like great bags. We used our baggalini this past April when we did Disney and it was very convenient without being in the way.

I had been debating between these 2 bags for months now. I tried on the Baggalini at a local store and wasnt wowed, but then I couldnt find anything else I liked more. I was pretty settled on ordering it til I saw the sale on the Donner at REI and I ordered one today (got it pricematched through another site). I should have it tomorrow, so i will check back in with my opinions. I doubt you could go wrong with either choice.

I have the Donner, and it would definitely work for you. It also has side pockets for water bottles or an umbrella. It can be carried over one shoulder, like a purse, or across the body.

I don't have the Baggallini, so I have only seen pics. From what I have seen, I don't think that I could get my DH to carry it.

A thought - when we went with our 2 yo, I had a diaper bag backpack that I hung on the handles of the stroller (there are even messenger style bags that have special straps for hanging on the stroller). I bought a smaller bag (the OE Placer) as my personal bag for valuables that I never took off (tickets, phone, lip gloss, camera, money, sunglasses). If you have a stroller, you can always use it as the "pack horse" with only non-valuables in the diaper bag. (Sidenote: I haven't used the diaper bag backpack again, although I imagine we will keep using it for traveling with kids. I love love love the Placer and use it when I travel/daytime outings with or without kids.)

If you can find pics on how the Baggalini is carried vs. the OE Donner, that might help. I've seen the Baggalini in person at a Container Store if you have on nearby.

Check out post #55 for an entertaining review of the Baggalini...

I have both bags. I got the Baggallini for last years trip and used it the first morning we were there and that was it. It was too small. I couldn't find anything in it and it only holds one water bottle. I ordered the Overland Donner bag this spring and I love it. It seems much roomier to me and it holds 2 water bottles very snugly. I was able to fit 2 fullsize coloring books, crayons, camera, snacks, wipes, etc in it with no problem.

Okay, I'm glad you posted about the Overland Donner bag...for some reason I did not think it was that big-it looks so small in pictures I've seen of it. Actually, I was tempted to order it thinking I'd be getting something more compact than the Baggalini, cause if ours is not full, it seems too big at times. Thanks for the info!

I have a Donner bag and I was really happy with it as a WDW bag. The bottle holders are GREAT. Very handy. It's a pretty roomy bag overall and I had no problem taking it on rides and such.

Although my husband wasn't all that keen on holding it b/c he said it "looks like a pocketbook..." (which is New Jersey for "purse"!)

We are going again this summer but are taking the kids this time. I was actually pretty concerned that my Donner bag wouldn't hold everything I might need as the designated "pack mule"! SO I found a FANTASTIC bag that I think will work! I just got it. It's a Diaper Dude Messenger bag!:thumbsup2 It's marketed as a diaper bag for "hip dads". It's completely unisex and no one would know it was supposed to be a diaper bag. I LOVE IT! It comes in a green camo print, all black, brown, navy blue, a really loud plaid, a pink camo print (the diaper diva), I think gray and orange as well. It's comparable in price to the Donner bag and it's TONS of compartments, a "bottle" holder that fits a diet coke bottle cuz I checked FIRST THING! It's got three large pockets on the front, pockets on the back, a large inner compartment that comes with a little changing pad which you can take out of you don't need it, and a cell phone holder on the shoulder strap.

I got the green camo print bag. It's not too huge, but big enough to carry everything you might need. I think it's going to work out great. I'm going to use it as a carry on to the plane as well. I can use it for school too.

I got mine on @ www.travelingtikes.com . They have the lowest price. These bags are on Ebags.com for $61 and up. Traveling tikes has them for $49.99, no matter what color you choose. Their customer service department is fantastic and you get free shipping! I really researched this and I think I got the lowest price and the best deal on the web. The bag I got sold for $65.99 at every other site.

good luck!! If you go with the donner bag it comes in lots of fun colors too! Check around those b/c prices vary by website!

I used a Baggallini sling bag on our WDW trip in December. I liked the size and having all the pockets. It helped me keep everything organized. I also like carrying a sling bag better than a shoulder bag because it distributes the weight more evenly and your hands are free.

But, I used the Baggallini again on a museum field trip with my son's class a few weeks ago and wasn't as thrilled with it. Mine is made of nylon and I found it to be kind of hot and sweaty against my side. We took public transit to the museum so we were outside and walking a lot. For some reason, I wasn't as thrilled with it as I was during our WDW trip. I may look for another type of bag for our upcoming Disneyland trip.
