I overheard a CM at my local Disney store telling someone that Disney rised the prices of the refillable mugs to $13.00. Also that you can now take them to the parks for free refills.
Sorry, but I find this hard to beleive. Anyone heard of this?

I haven't heard that and I do find it hard to believe but it would be a good deal if you could get free refills at the parks. :)

this hard to believe too. Especially coming from a CM as a Disney Store. As with any food service, most of their $$$ (and profit) is made on drinks so can't see them reducing this. And, would hate to have to carry around a big cup all day!

I, too, find this hard to believe. However, if it is true, that would be great for us. We always fill our mugs up on our way to the parks and then carry them all day. Of course we have a stroller right now so no big deal. Later that may change.

I was just at POR this past weekend and the refillable mug prices were still $10.99 and only good for refills at the resort.

There last week, $10.99 at YC and $11.99 at the ASMu and only good for your resort.

Was at CBR for week over Easter and the mugs were $11.99. For use only at resort purchased for that length of stay.

Well, we pretty much always have a refillable mug with us as we leave the resort, usually filled with coffee to prepare us two parents for the day ahead. We usually have a backpack with snacks in it anyway, so we just stash it there, plus our 6 yr olds DS's wheelchair has its own backpack available for us to stash thing in (usually some heavier stuff).

Yeah, it would be neat if this were the case, but I expect the DS CMs overheard were just fantasizing.

Based on your comment, I feel as though I was ripped off. We just returned from POFQ (POR's sister resort) two weeks ago. The resorts sell the exact same mugs - ours cost 11.99.

I"m sorry Jeff-if it makes you feel any better I didn't buy one! I double checked with DH to make sure that I had the right number and yep it was $10.99 when we were at the POR food court Monday morning.

Yep, stayed at POR last month and while waiting for my order noticed the price had gone up. I never bought one anyway. By the time I fill the cup and walk back to my room, it's already half empty. Never seen anything with free refills at any Disney park. But Busch Gardens does have a mug you can buy and get free refills.

They are testing a pilot program at the water parks where you buy a refillable mug with a barcode on it. You scan the barcode at a self serve fountain and can fill your cup. The barcode is good for one day only. They have had this for two years now. Can't remember the price for the mug.

The refillable mugs can only be purchased at disney resorts where ther are food courts. You buy the mug and throughout your stay at the Walt DIsney REsort Hotel, you can refill the mugs. At least that is my understanding of its limitations.

I'm pretty sure the deluxe resorts don't have food courts (haven't seen any) but the do sell refillable mugs that you can refill at the pool bars. Not very convenient as the lineups are sometime quite long.

You can get breakfast lunch and dinner there. It's right next to the arcade. They sell the mugs. We get one for coffee, tea, etc throughout our trip. It's worth it for us.

YC has a little pastry/coffee shop in the lobby open every morning. Coffee, tea & soda are available.
