Over the river and through the woods to Mickey's house we go: The Remix

Hi Lisa:)

All caught up! I can't believe how close your trip is!! You must be so excited!

Love Lacey's dress...it's so beautiful! I'm so glad to hear that John's doctor is working out! Such great news!

Your plans sound great! A relaxing first day is always a good idea!;)

If I don't get a chance to get back on before you leave for your trip! I hope you have a magical time and I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!!

Good morning! I hope that you all had a great weekend.

Lacey's dress and Jesse's ring were delivered late Friday afternoon. The dress is even more beautiful than the picture. We knew before it came in that we would have to have the bodice altered. She (like her mother and every other woman on my side of the family) is not well endowed at the top. My mother, who used to make all of our clothes when we were kids and also made my wedding dress, said that it shouldn't be hard for someone who does alterations all the time.

Lacey and I decided not to take the dress to David's Bridal for alterations until we come back from vacation. I don't want to hand over the dress and then be gone for almost two weeks. I'd rather wait until we get back because I am sure they will need her to come in for fittings.

On the Disney vacation front, I got a pretty good bit accomplished this weekend. I have all of my clothes out and stacked into matched sets complete with matching jewelry for each set. All I need to do is get my underclothes and shoes out and I'm good to go. :thumbsup2

Lacey and I sat in her room Saturday night laughing and giggling while she tried on her clothes. I don't know why we got so tickled but we did and it was a fun time for she and I. After MUCH going back and forth, we got all of her clothes matched up too. It was after Midnight when we finally went to bed. We laughed that she wouldn't have anything to wear for a week since we have all of her clothes ready for vacation.

Weekend before last, Mama, Hunter and I went to the mall and to Academy Sports looking for Mama a new pair of walking shoes. The doctor gave her a pair of insoles that she has to wear for her foot pain and told her that she needed a good pair of walking shoes....either Nike or New Balance. We found a cute pair of Nikes at Academy and they were only $19.88 because they were on clearance!

Saturday, Hunter, Lacey, Mama and I went to the mall to try and find John a few pair of shorts. Like the typical man, he waited until the last minute to tell me that he needed more shorts. Thankfully, I was able to find some at JC Penney and they were on sale for $14.99. I would normally wait until he was with me so he could try them on but, for that price, I didn't want to pass them up. I figured I could always exchange them if they didn't fit.

Yesterday afternoon, Mama called and said that she thought she needed to buy another pair of shoes because she didn't want to go with just one pair. She and I went back to Academy and found her a pair of New Balance and they were only $40.00.

I bought groceries yesterday afternoon as well and bought the last two things that we needed for our already overloaded snack bag. When I came back, Lacey and Hunter were at Mama's house. Hunter was watching television while Lacey and Mama were trying to put together Mama's vacation clothes. They had almost everything picked out when I got there and I helped to add a few extra shirts to the stack of clothes and the jewelry to match everything.

I still have to go through Hunter's clothes and put his in sets. I also need to get him to sort through all his games and movies and determine which ones he is taking with him. John's stuff needs to be taken out and matched up as well. If I didn't tell him what clothes went with what, he'd be one miss-matched guy. :upsidedow

Lacey is taking all of the luggage down from the attic today so I can go ahead and start putting in the things that I have ready. This is the earliest I have ever gotten this much accomplished. Usually, we are getting stuff together a day or two before hand.

More off Disney talk: Our garden is already growing like crazy. The seeds weren't suppose to start coming up until at least 8 to 10 days after we planted them. They started coming up at 4 days! The plants that we planted are getting taller every day. I'm so glad that it's doing so well because we planted it lots later than we should have.

Semi-Diseny related talk: My boss has been moving into his new house for three weeks or so and I can't seem to get him to concentrate on the office much. I'm trying to get things done ahead of time but he's always been one of those wait until the last minute people. I do NOT want to be working my behind off to play catch up the two days before we leave. My goal is to have every deadline met by the end of this week. That way, I won't be rushing to get everything done next Monday and Tuesday.

Oh well, speaking of work, I need to get at it. I have two deadlines today and have only gotten half of one done.

7 days!! YIPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

I hope you can get your boss in gear so you won't be crazy at work next week!

7 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you are sooooooo excited. Sorry I have been so MIA here on the Dis...........just can't seem to get that Dis feeling back.........:(............lol.

Glad Lacey likes the dress even more in person than she did online! Good luck with the alterations.

Wow on the packing and sorting! I usually start packing about 3 days before I leave, and finish up the night before I leave, or early that day if I'm leaving late in the day.

Only 7 days!!!!!! :banana::cheer2::cool1:

 Just one more week till you leave!!!! :cool1: So exciting!!!! Lacey's dress is beautiful!! Glad it was just what you all imagined it to be when it arrived!!! Just wanted to pass on a word of caution....the David's bridal allterations service is absolutely horrible and down right expensive around here! Don't know how it is around your area, but I do not recommend them to anyone around here. Lots of issues with things being done incorrectly, shoes being dyed the wrong color, bustles coming undone during the wedding, etc. I could go on and on! I did purchase my wedding gown there & have purchased many bridesmaids gowns there, however, alterations NEVER!! I didn't want to take a chance myself knowing what friends & relatives have gone through. But, maybe it's just the stores up here! Good Luck!!!!

I am beginning my packing tonight!! :woohoo: Except for what I will be wearing this weekend I can pretty much get most of it done! I am so excited that this time next week I will be almost on my way!!

I feel your pain on those deadlines!! Just as I think I am "catching up"....more is plopped in front of me!!

So glad to hear the dress was what you had hoped for!!

Lacey's dress is so beautiful! It sounds like all the wedding plans are coming together perfectly.

And the trip plans are coming together, too. I didn't realize Illuminations was visible from Caribbean Beach. That's pretty nice.

I'm so glad Lacey's dress is everything you wanted it to be! It can be scary to buy things online sometimes and have the actual product be disappointing. I'm glad you are so pleased!

Sounds like things are coming right along on the packing front! Good for you! I'm usually so excited to go that I'm packed weeks in advance! :rotfl:

The time you are able to spend giggling with Lacey now is such a blessing. When she's a big, grown up, married woman you will treasure those memories! :)

Glad Lacey's dress (and Jesse's ring) arrived. I think you are smart to wait until you get back from vacation and keep the dress at home.

Yeah, less than a week to go!!! You can start playing the "one week from today we will be..." game.

Thanks for sharing the picture of Lacey's GORGEOUS dress with us! What a beautiful bride she will be!

Thanks for the detailed description of your garden. Glad it has started growing well so far. Here in New England, we can't even start thinking about planting until Memorial Day.

You must be so relieved to hear that most of John's medical news was positive and that the doctor is confident they can get his meds sorted out.

Keep us posted about Hunter's football comeback.

OMG, I feel like such a huge moron! I never subbed in here, even after I posted ,on your 1st page no less:sad2:, UGH! I have to catch up!

Ok, I know you have 6 days until "take-off", so I have some reading to do!

* I'm all caught up.
Lacey's dress is so beautiful :lovestruc She will be a lovely bride:bride:

My 12 yr old nephew plays football and he loves it. Even when they make him run the mile in the middle of August on the hottest day of year:eek:

I hope you get everything wrapped up so you can have a great vacation!

Carey

Yay for getting the dress & ring in! I'm so glad it was even better in person. :goodvibes I am right behind you on packing. I've got most of my tops ready and a hat on top of the stack. I feel like I need to wait until the weekend at least to get the kids' things ready since they will still have school Mon & Tues of next week. Time is beginning to slow down around here. I hope you get all your office work finished up this week!

Next week!!!!!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Hi Lisa,
Thinking of you as I am watching the news talk about all the flooding down in MS and LA...I hope your house is not in the 'flood area' and that all is well where you live....

Lisa, you have been a very busy bee and gotten so much accomplished ahead of time! I can't believe you have most of everyone's clothes already lined up! You are a short-timer now! I am excited for you, and really look forward to knowing you are in your happy place!:dance3:
I LOVE Lacey's dress, and what a bargain! When my daughter got married she fell in love with one of the least expensive dresses we saw, and her veil cost more than the dress!! Sensible girls are great. The dessert reception idea sounds great. Back in the olden days, when I got married, the normal wedding reception was cake and punch only. Somewhere along the line it got way too ramped up!
Glad John's doctor's visit went so well. It sounds as though he really knows what he is doing and will get him fixed up well. That is a blessing! Hope Mama's ulcer resolves itself quickly also.
Y'all have a ton of fun, and take lots of your wonderful pictures for those of us who aren't going to visit OUR happy place this year.

I'm sorry I haven't had time to reply to any of your posts. Heck, I haven't even posted any more of my plans yet but I hope to post at least another day's plans in a little while. I promise to try and do better here on out. Of course, "here on out" is just 4 days but maybe I can keep my promise. LOL!

My boss has fallen into the official "I'm freaking out because Lisa is leaving next week." stage. It started day before yesterday and there is no sign of it easing up at all. :sad2:

My desk is as clean as a whistle. I've done all of my filing, typed all of the pleadings, mailed out the monthly billing, have packages waiting on clients to pick up and have my replacement lined up to be here next Wednesday. But, think about it......if my desk is clean, that means my boss' desk is now piled up with the things I have done and have given to him. I'm afraid that he'll wait until next Tuesday to look at everything and will want me to get it all out in just one day. In order to avoid that, I am writing all of the documents I have typed (and are on his desk) to a memory stick and am putting it on his desk so that he knows he can make any changes to them while I am gone. If he knows he has that option, he may not put them all back on me at the last minute. Hey, a girl can dream can't she?

To make matters worse, my boss and his fiance' have been fussing back and forth for about two weeks now and I think they are about to call it quits. That, combined with the fact that it hasn't been very long since his Dad passed away and he's still trying to get all of his things moved from his old house into his new one, he's been a real beast lately. His fiance' was supposed to be here in Louisiana (she lives in South Carolina) the week of May 30th which meant that he'd be out of the office most of the time that I am gone. Now, if she doesn't come, he'll be at the office and catching up on paperwork and putting it on my desk while I'm away. :headache:

On the homefront and Disney preparation front, I got my hair cut Tuesday after work. When I say I got it cut, I mean I got it CUT! My hair was past my shoulders before and it's now just a little longer than over my ears. I haven't had it this short in two or three years. I love it because it takes me about 5 minutes to fix.

Hunter received an Academic Achievement award yesterday at his school. He maintained a 3.5 average all school year. :cool1: I often wonder how he did it because the dumb bunny was constantly forgetting to turn in his homework and received several zeros because of it. :sad2: Boys! Today is the school's talent show and Hunter is playing his guitar. Actually, he's playing Lacey's guitar because her's is a nicer one than his.

We found out that Hunter is exempt from all of his finals because of his grades. That means he's out of school for good once he's done with the talent show today. He'll have a few days to do nothing but hang out at the house with Lacey and his Mamaw before we head out to Disney next Tuesday evening.

Believe it or not, John started getting his clothes out night before last. He never starts preparing this early which tells me that he is more than ready to go to Walt Disney World. Poor baby, he's been so tired with going to work every day and then going out to the people's camp that he's working on in the evenings and weekends. He's hoping that he'll finish up the camp Saturday and can collect the rest of his money before we leave.

Sunday afternoon, we are having my family over to celebrate Hunter's birthday since his birthday falls on the day we are leaving for vacation. He's hoping he gets money so that he'll have plenty to spend in Disney.

Remember that I told ya'll that Mama bought her a second pair of tennis shoes? Well, she's taking them back. She doesn't think she'll like them as much as the first pair she bought so she's taking them back and exchanging them or a pair like her first ones just in a different color. She is the queen of returning merchandise and we often pick at her because she does it so much. :rotfl:

I guess that's about it except for adding in that our garden is still doing good. John asked a guy from his work to come by and water it for us while we are away. I don't know why he didn't just ask my sister or niece since they are going to be collecting our mail, feeding Tiana (our cat) and Oddball (our dog) and treating our swimming pool. Oh well, whatever. At least I know everything will be done by somebody.

Let me go see if Photobucket is working today and, if so, I'll post more of our plans. TTFN!

I congratulated Hunter on FB, but I will do so here again. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: That is just awesome.

John got his clothes out? Wow....I am impressed.

I hear you on the boss...I don't what makes them think they can't function without us. Oh, wait, yes I do. We're TOO darn good. ;)

I was so proud of Hunter. His grade point average would have been so much better if he would have just turned in his darned homework though. I don't know why he has a problem doing that. :confused3

I know....can you believe that John isn't waiting until the night before to starting getting his things out? I thought my eyes were deceiving me.

My boss used to do almost all of his own typing, copying, filing, etc. His former secretaries only answered the phone and, every once in a while, they'd type a letter or two. Once I came along, he realized that he had found somebody who actually knew what they were doing and now he's spoiled. I agree with you.....we are just TOO good. :goodvibes

Wow! Busy time at your house!!!

Congrats to Hunter!!! That is so great!

My daughter came home the other day and told me she got a snow cone at school. I asked her if she had bought it and she said no so, of course, I had to pry. Turns out, she made perfect attendance this quarter!!! I don't know how she did it, but she did! She's only ever had perfect attendance once before. We are always having to take her out for something or other. :rolleyes1

I'm so jealous of you going to WDW in a week! I tried to talk Mike into going down on the 25th for just a couple days, but he said no. Boo, hiss!

Glad to hear that the wedding plans are coming along! I love Lacey's dress! It's perfect!
