Hope you are feeling better, and the day of rest gives you the energy to teach the next two days. Remember next week will be filled with pixie dust.
Great pictures of the storytellers. They made me want to go back this Christmas to watch again first hand.
Luckily, I only have to teach one more day. The kids are out Friday, and we have an in-service day.
I've seen and heard most all of the Christmas storytellers now, I think. Some I've seen more than once. I'll have to go through the official list and see which ones I still need to get to. Hopefully, if we get to go after Christmas this year, I'll make it a point to finish out the list.
Tell Brookie that I love the Nemo ride too! I always sing along..."Big Blue World...."
She loves that ride! We know
'Big Blue World', very well.
I have the sweetest message saved on my voice mail from our November trip. I had gone out early to take pictures, and Jill called to let me know they were ready to meet. She let Brooklynn do the talking.
It goes like this:
Jill is in the background coaching Brooklynn, and Brooklynn is repeating into the phone.
Jill: Where are you, MeMom?
Brook: Where aah you, MeMom?
Jill: We're on our way to the bus stop.
Brook: We're on our way to da bus stop.
Jill: Going to Epcot.
Brook: Go to Epcot. Ride Nemo!
Notice Brooklynn took a little liberty with the last sentence!
She knew what Epcot meant. Epcot = Nemo, of course.
Her little voice is so sweet, and just hearing the excitement in her voice that she was headed to ride Nemo just made me smile. I have that message saved, and when I need a Brooklynn fix, I listen to it and smile all over again.
I just loveeee Epcot and your pictures just make me love it even more!
Christmas around the world looks so amazing. Brooklynn really just loved that Chinese story teller didn't she?

And you guys are too sweet to initiate Jarvis like that, I'm sure he really appreciated it
Hope you're feeling a little better MeMom, get rid of that cold before next week!!
There is so much to photograph in Epcot. I want to spend much more time there and see every backstreet and corner, because it's all so detailed.
Well, Jarvis is still hanging around, and he says he's going back with us again, so I guess he's forgiven us.
Just reading next Friday makes me excited, and I am not even going!
When will you find out about switching grades?
It is starting to sink in, but every time I allow myself to get excited about it, I also have a twinge of sadness. I know that I will think of Jill and Brooklynn at every turn. I will have to be a nice friend and keep my mouth shut, not saying, "Jill/Brooklynn, loves this ride!" or "this is Jill/Brooklynn's favorite place to eat/shop/play/whatever." Disney World and those girls are so intertwined to me, that I will have to work at not saying what I'm thinking, because I will be thinking of them!
Oh poor
MeMom, you seemed to have picked up something nasty. Sore throats are awful.
Hope you are resting and can recover fast so you can get ready for your trip.
The weekend is almost here and then its only a few more days until you are strolling down Main Street.
Feel free to take as many pics as your camera will let you.
It started with fever, then sore throat, then lost voice, and now chest congestion. I noticed my voice was coming back last night when I answered the phone at 9:22 last night when Trent called. I hadn't talked in several hours, since he was gone and Drew was at school, so it surprised me when I said, "Hello,' and it was a little more than a whisper.

My throat is still a little sore, but not as bad as it was. I don't get sick very often, and when I do, it normally doesn't last long, although I have had a couple of times that a persistent cough held on for about a month, and that was annoying!
Anyway, I don't stress over being sick or worry about it changing any of my plans, because normally my 'sicks' are pretty short and manageable.
First off, I must state my preference for Figment over Barney -- some purple guys do have an edge.
Jarvis trying Beverly is hilarious!!!

I so needed that laugh after grading essays all day.
Was Brooklyn scared of the Monkey King or just uninterested?
I think she was a little afraid and maybe intimidated by the thunderous way he strolled in. In the past six months or so, she has become more familiar with the concept of fear, and that's a healthy thing. She's not overly fearful by a long stretch, but she's more cautious as she gets older. I guess introducing her to all those Disney characters as she was young just made her think you just hugged anybody with fur or a big head or a costume, and she completely accepted that. As she's gotten older, she's forming her own opinions a little more about who she'll hug or hold hands with, and it's interesting to see that development in her. Kids are fascinating to me!
It happened to me over there too.

Very strange!
If I were Brooklynn's age, I don't think I'd like the Monkey King either. Only difference is, I'd probably cry.
She didn't cry or even vocalize in any way that she didn't like him or was scared of him. She simply put the cover down and sat there quietly. I would love to know what she was thinking in her little mind.
Oh how your stories and pictures make me wish I was in Epcot!!

I absolutely
love Jarvis' reaction to the Beverly!!

I tried that on DBFF but she
liked it!! Figures, she's weird...anyhow, I also love Brooklyn's fashion statement with the Figment hat! Fabulous!

I love the Holiday storytellers! I don't think I managed to get any pictures during their speeches so thanks for sharing!
Also MeMom, I hope that knowing you'll soon be in Disney gets you feeling better!

We need you in tiptop shape! And for the pancake party, I would like plain pancakes please!

I guess I'll bring the authentic Canadian maple syrup!
I'll be 100% ready to go next week! I wouldn't let a little cold stop me.
Real maple syrup from Canada? I would love that!!!
I'm so happy to read that you are feeling better, I hope your voice returns soon and everything gets back to normal for your trip!
I love the pics of Brooklyn's faces. The "mad" face is my favorite!
I also love the pic of her with the Figment hat on, so adorable. Jarvis' reaction to the Beverly is priceless! I bet you were all laughing!
My voice is returning. I hope it holds out through the school day. I think it's better now, but it may not be as loud as I think it is when I'm in the classroom with all the kids.
I guess I better start my packing, huh? First, I have to concentrate on tying up loose ends at school, and when all that is done, I will be totally focused on getting ready for next week.
Confession: We did laugh.
Have a good day at school today, hope your voice is better.
I'll give it a 'test drive' today and hope for the best!
*******************************
Thanks for all the well wishes. The fever is gone, so the rest of it is just more of an annoyance than anything. I can work with cough and little voice, but I couldn't be around the kids with a fever. My little Chinese girl had gone home the other morning with a high fever, so I guess maybe she was just sharing with me!
I only have to teach one day, and the kids are finished, so this is a Friday for them. They will be pretty crazy, knowing they have a whole week plus ahead of them.
Oughta be a fun day!
