I have learned from this great message board that the over the door shoe organizers are great to bring to Disney World. I recently bought one and plan on bringing it to our next trip (3 weeks in Disney World - staring the end of October).

I'm just curious...for those of you have used the shoe organizer...what did you use yours for? What did you store in the organizer?

Have never taken one to WDW, only on Disney Cruise Lines. We used it to go over the bathroom door on the ship to hold things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deoderant, etc. so that things wouldn't slide off the shelves if we had rough seas. Would guess that the same theory would hold true at the resort hotels but we've always found plenty of room for toiletries, etc. in the bathrooms of the hotels.

...anything that gets in the way on the floor (like shoes!!) or toiletry items (toothbrushes, hairbrushes...etc)

We first used ours on Disney Cruise Line after reading about them on these boards, but have since taken it almost every time we stay in a hotel. We keep car keys, room keys, sunglasses, sunscreen, toiletries, extra shoes, etc. It is very helpful at keeping down the clutter in the room.

Great! I can use all the help I can get with keeping the clutter to a minimum. I'm excited to give this a try!

Its pretty funny, when I read "shoes" I thought...oh, what a good idea. I never thought of shoes....and its a shoe organinzer! lol

We used ours for the first time on DCL and I LOVED it!! It made things so much handier to find & grab!! I highly recommend them for any extended hotel stay (but I wouldn't bother for just a little weekend trip because I don't even up pack for short stays)

We used it for toiletries, sunscreen, disposable cameras, bandaids... our DS stuck a few of his items in there as well
(toys! LOL)

I give this idea 2 thumbs up! (albeit two left thumbs! ;) )

This has nothing to do with Dis, but what the heck. :D

I took one of these 'over the door shoe organizer things' and screwed it to the inside of our coat closet door. We use it in the winter for gloves, mittens, hats, etc. :)

In the summer we stick the 2 way radios in it, sunblock, bug spray, swim goggles, etc. in it.

It is a great way to keep the closet organized! :) I didn't want to look atthe over the door organizer hooks on the outside of the door, thus the screwing it in the door solution. :)

We bought one for our Disney cruise last year and it was great! When we came home it became DD's Barbie doll condo, and it hangs over her closet door. They're a perfect size for beanie babies, too. Of course, now I have to buy a new one for our upcoming cruise because I can't even imagine the mess if we tried to evict the Barbies.

I love this idea. I read the post and trekked out to Walmart and got my shoe organizer for $5.88. It has 48 pouches.

When we get back I think I'll mount it to the closet door like someone suggested.

Our hotel room is always filled with clutter on the desk, tv,etc (sunglasses, sunscreen, keys, cell phone, wallet, oh yeah and SHOES!)

Thanks to all for the great idea!
