I love the idea of taking one of those shoe holder things with all the pockets to keep our bathroom stuff organized and off the sink. :)
My question/concern is: has anyone ever had trouble getting the door shut with the hook-thingys over the top? The one I've got has kinda thick metal hooks on top. It works on my door at home, but not sure about at Pop Century. Any experience with this??:confused3

I'm not sure about the door question but I just hang mine on the rack in the closet area and it works great since it's right by the sink. :thumbsup2

In the LL Bean catalog, they sell toiletry bags in a variety of sizes that zip open and fold out. They usually have a handle that you can hang on the back of your bathroom door(there is usually a hook on the inside of the bathroom. We have the large one, and we can fit so much in there, including full size shampoo and conditioner bottles. We travel a lot, and it is really nice for keeping things in one spot.

Yes--it didn't work over the doors at CBR or POFQ. The metal hooks were too thick. I was bummed because I wanted to use it on the door that goes between the rooms, not for bathroom stuff, but lanyards, park tickets, sunscreen, etc. So I just hung it in on the hanger bar in the closet area and it worked out just fine. Getting everybody to put their stuff in it so it was easy to find was another story.

If you want to use it in the bathroom area, you should be fine hanging it on the hanger bar. It's not like they give you enough hangers to use up all that space anyway.

I also did what the posters above stated. When I saw that it wouldn't fit over the door, I used the racks of the closet next to the sink. It worked out perfectly: all the toiletries and baby necessities were easy to reach and organized.

I just stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and had a over the door shoe hangar and it did fit on the bathroom door but then you couldn't shut the door so I put it on the entertainment center door (it was open). Worked fine here.

I hang mine in the closet too - it's out of the way (I think hanging it on the bathroom door it would be a little bit in the way and swinging everytime the door was opened and closed ) yet hanging right beside the sink, it is still convenient.:thumbsup2

Before our trip last year, I found a small organizer (looks like a mini shoe rack) that has a closet hanger at the top. It has 6 pockets. It was perfect for our toiletries at WDW, and I hung it from the corner of the towel rack in the kids' bathroom when we got home. It holds barrettes and things now. I paid $2 for it at Dollar General.

FYI - the overdoor hangers don't work at the Yacht Club, either. The bathroom door is too thick. We couldn't find any way to get it to hang in the closet or from any other door. Oh, well!

But we LOVED the two mesh pop-up hampers we took - one really corralled dirty clothes and other held all the shoes, flipflops, etc. so things weren't scattered around the room. They fold flat in the suitcases and don't take up any space at all.

If you just have the kind with the small hander, you could use those 3M command hooks, I love those things! You just attach the adhesive and then it "peels" off when you are done with absolutely NO damage. You could put the hook anywhere you wanted!

I experience this last Jan. @ Pop, and I hung mine over the shower rod and it worked just fine. I will always take it. It saved a lot of room!

We were at WDW in Feb. We hung our organizer on the hang up bar next to the sink (at CSR).

This is one of the best tips I've ever gotten from disboards. I've been using a shoe caddy to carry toiletries on all of our trips, whether Disney or otherwise, for years. I actually keep it packed and ready in a duffel bag!!

We hung our over-the-door shoe organizer on the closet rod at the Wilderness Lodge last summer. It worked fine, but I wish I had gotten one with clear plastic pockets so the contents were immediately visible! :thumbsup2
