After applying the AP rate (yes!) we have an extra $450. I asked the CM if I could just us it as a room credit. She told me probably not, and that accounting will refund my credit card. I asked her if it was possible at all to keep it as a room credit (since we live in Canada we'll loss out big on the exchange if it's refunded, then we'd have to go out and get more travellers cheques). She noted the file, but reitterated that it probably will be put on the card since I'm more then 30 days from check-in.
Anyone here keep money on the account more then 30 days out?
We might go in the fall, so if they are going to refund it, should we just book for the fall now using the credit? Whaddya think?

The same happen to us...We have a credit for 355.00 and the CM explained to me that it will be ready to pick up at check-in at the resort....Why you don't call again and asked about this....Cause sometimes I call twice to be sure that there is other ways to resolve this....

Im not sure if mine was 30 days out or not.. so I cant help.. but I did use my balance as room credit.

Hope you get an answer.. bumping this up.

Just book the fall trip now with the credit if you can. They can't hold it on a room credit for that long. We had that happen to us. We were assured that it would be on the room credit and long story short, we had to move our split stay a day early otherwise they were going to dump it back to the card (mind you, it was a card that we closed too! :)

Room only reservations that are overpaid get a refund issued (credit back to card, or in the form of payment originally made.)

For packages the overpayment can remain on the account to be used once you are at the resort toward your room charges.

I called and a GREAT cm made an Sept-Oct ressie for me and transferred over the left over money from the spring booking. Yay!! Now time to wait for Sept APs! Haha, just kidding! I'm just glad I got one today. Time to relex for a few months until the 7am wake up starts again :)

I don't know if Disney changed the way they do things, but we had a room only reservation last June that I made the December before. I made payments on it, applied the room only discount code to the reservation, and continued to put money on the reservation until about two weeks before we arrived. We had over a $1000 room credit that we used for food and shopping. Last year, like with so many things, some of the CMs I talked to didn't think you could do that, but the majority of them said you can.
