Over 50 and wearing panty hose

I haven't worn panty hose in years and I'm over 60. I do think I need to shave my legs, tho but I'm not sure until I put my reading glasses on!!!

Im 51 and I refuse to wear pantyhose!!! Unless they are more like colored stockings in the winter time!!! I lived through that @#$% in the 70's and 80's in the heat of Coastal Texas...No, just no, you can't make me

Some women's legs just look better w/ nude/sheer hose.

W/ a sleeveless, summer dress, though, I think you'll be fine without hose - especially if you're wearing sandals.

I once attended a wedding & wore dressy, silver pumps. Because I knew hose were out & "dated," I decided not to wear any. However, to this day, I still wish I had worn some sheer hose w/ my pumps. It was a November wedding, & I was wearing a knee-length dress. I was so uncomfortable, & I think my legs would have looked much better w/ a pair of sheer hose.

Now, I'd just follow Kate Middleton's lead & wear the hose.

But, again, in the summer w/ a sleeveless dress, I'd go w/o the hose.

Hey, as long as your skin looks good, I agree. After 50, it's hit or miss.

And who cares if 'your skin looks good?' Or does that apply to whole bodies? I mean, some people should probably wear hose on their faces then...

I'm so jealous of all of you who can get away without hose. My legs are scary white. I try to stick with longer skirts and still skip the hose. But anything shorter and I just feel like I'm going to scare people.

I'm over caring what other people think about my appearance. No matter what, someone is going to disagree with what's presentable and acceptable. If I'm comfortable with myself and not indecent I don't care if my legs are too pale or my skin too aged. Heck I have scars all down one leg - if anyone's going to stare at my legs it's probably for that. It's freaking hot here so I wear shorts from April through October and I swim in a swimsuit in public even though I'm far from a perfect body, and if my appearance offends someone they can look away. I'm not going to be sweaty and uncomfortable because my body doesn't meet someone else's standards. Our high temps are probably why I've never see anyone wear hose, either, be it at the courthouse, weddings, or other "formal" type events. Ok I'll just step down off my soapbox now...

I'm 60 and don't own a pair of pantyhose. In the warmer weather it's bare legged for me, in the colder weather I wear tights. I think the last time I wore them was about 6 years ago at my son's wedding and they came off after the wedding before the reception.

I don't usually wear pantyhose anymore, but I'm going to a formal wedding next month, and do plan to wear hose. Probably something not thick or heavy though.

I think the thought when the question was asked was that woman of a certain age *should* wear pantyhose. It's an outdated, old school way of thinking IMO. I don't wear them because you can't make me!

I'd make my decision on wear or not wear pantyhose based on the formality of the event and how comfortable/uncomfortable I'd feel based on how dressy/formal/fancy the event is supposed to be. I live in the South, and if I can get away without wearing pantyhose then I certainly do.

Try Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. It's pretty amazing. I never ever wear pantyhose but my complexion is a nice shade of ghostly. The Airbrush Legs is awesome. Almost every women in my office wears it now and it's only about $8 a bottle at WalMart.

I like wearing leotards better than pantyhose. I don't care what people think. I am me and wear what is comfortable.

Leotards? The costumes that gymnasts wear when performing?
