Oven problems.....

my oven has decide that bake means to broil, atleast the left broil coil. Great time to happen when I am trying to bake cookies for our trip this weekend, we don't take trips without homemade cookies and brownies. Oh well, that tradition is broken.

Has anyone had this happen to their oven? If so, what was the outcome. I think we should call and have someone look at it. DH thinks it totally needs replaced. It is only 5yrs old.

You might want to see if the heating element inside needs replaced. It usually doesn't cost much. If it's not the element, I don't have a clue.

5 years really isn't too old, have somebody come out and take a look. A stove should definitely last longer than 5 years.

I agree Amanda. Maybe the coils just need a professional cleaning.
