Outside Vendors?

Did anyone use any outside vendors [besides Photography]??

We're looking specifically at a DJ and Floral. I know floral is allowed as we are in a ballroom but was not sure about a DJ.

Please let me know any information!

I think an outside DJ is allowed in a ballroom, but Disney will charge a fee to set up and for a lighting package - something along that line. I would reccomend the Passporter's Weddings and Honeymoons book - lurkyloo wrote it, it's fantastic. And it's also definitely accurate, as when we met with our consultant, he had just given her updated pricing on something for the latest edition. It answered a lot of these questions for us, and also gave us the opportunity to ask some questions that we wouldn't have thought of. Annnnd it's only like $8.95.

I agree with PP. When I did the math for an outside DJ it came out more expensive than a Disney DJ because of the extra fee. As for an outside florist I definately recommend Emily from Charming Events. She was an angel and great to work with. She did an amazing job. I gave her a basic idea of what I wanted and my colors and she had awesome ideas! I highly recommend her. You won't be disappointed. We're looking into using our own florist. As for own DJ, we decided against a non-Disney one because the extra charges Disney adds on for an outside DJ, plus what the outside DJ would charge would probably be more than just hiring a Disney DJ.

We used 'Petal by Design Orlando'. I was absolutely thrilled with my floral and it was all that I dreamed it would be!! I didn't get the opportunity to meet with the florist as I live in the UK, and had to convey my ideas via e-mailed pictures, but they really nailed it for me!! They were happy to do all the set-up, moving between ceremony and reception and strike too.

We are not using an outside DJ as Disney has very good DJ's. But we are using an outside florist and I just posted the proposal with info and pricing on what I'm getting. We are using Raining Roses.

For the DJ, the cost really depends on what time of year you are getting married. I believe the fee for bringing in an outside DJ is around $950, and an outside band is $1550. Because we are getting married in December, we were quoted at over $3000 for a Disney DJ. In that case it would make more sense to bring in an outside DJ, because the combined cost (Disney's fee plus outside DJ's fee) would most likely be less. We ended up deciding to go with an outside band. I would definitely check with your planner about your specific date!
