Hi all!

DH and I are looking for things to do beyond the themeparks. We both love music and food. DH loves sports of all kinds and I love shopping(of course). We will be in WDW the last week of March. What fun things have you done outside of the themeparks? We would appreciate any ideas. Thanks for your help. :hippie:

What resort are you staying at? There is so much more to do besides the parks. If your husband loves sports, my DH and I did the Richard Petty driving experience last year - what a great time, and so easy to get to with the Disney transportation. Also, the Spirit of Aloha dinner show is wonderful at the Polynesian - food is great and show is wonderful. Shopping at Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island is a great way to spend some time (and money). Another thing we love to do if we don't go to parks is just tour around all the resorts. You can get to them from the entrance of each theme park or from Downtown Disney. We browse through the gift shops, wander around the resort, and your welcome to pool hop or use the different work out rooms. The spa and workout room at Saratoga is great - you can use it even if you're not staying there, just show them your room card. Wilderness Lodge has lots to do too - you can rent the little motor boats to zip around the lake, you can horseback ride at the campgrounds. Boardwalk is great to tour around too - lots of shops, ESPN sports bar and other bars and restaurants. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find more to do on property than you could imagine, without ever entering a park. Enjoy!

go visit the Wide world of sports...

the Atlanta Braves spring games are happening in march.

I also love to visit the resorts - each one is so different and fun!!!

some of the best restuarants are in the resorts.

California Grill at Cont, 'Ohana at Polyn (I like the Kona Cafe better - but I like basic foods), Artist Pointe at WL, Cape May Cafe at BC, several places along BW.

the EsPN club (on the BW) might be what you and your husband love.

Jellyrolls on the BW - is what several people here love.

I like the Adventure Club at PI.

House Of Blues at Downtown Disney often has top-knotch musical acts.

Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville at Universal CityWalk also has great music acts.

For shopping, hit some of the many flea markets and outlet malls on US 192.

Also, don't miss the Disney outlet stores in teh WDW area (see link in my signature for maps).

You might also try a dinner show, like Medeival Times, Capones, or Dixie Stampede.

If you have some cash to burn, there is also the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

And if you or DH are into golf, there are 5 championchip golf courses at WDW, and about 15 more within a 30-minute drive or WDW.

Last June I took my DH and DSs to the Mideveil Dinner Show. It was a surprise Fathers Day gift. The show was good. If you like that kind of stuff. We thought the food was really good! If you have a special day you are celebrating they make an announcment and bring you cake. I think they give you 10% off too.

We always take a few days off from the parks to sleep in and see other things.

We also went to Dayton. Loved it!

Oh yeahhh shopping is always good at Beltz Outlets.
